Great place to stay!
The house was great! Very clean, lots of extra towels and blankets. Secluded and quiet, perfect for a weekend of relaxation!
Loved how close it was to Watkins Glen and the wineries while it was very quiet and secluded.
It's totally 5 stars if you understand that this is a simple home with everything you will need including a washer and dryer, grill, and a great front porch to sit and relax on(or lay on the hammock).
Owners let you be unless you call and then they respond pretty quickly.
Very quiet at night.
VERY close to wineries if that's what you want.
Also easy drive to Watkins and Dundee is very close if you just need something simple during the day (plus Dundee has a cool little dirt track race on Saturday nights!)
Don't forget the windmill (Saturday mornings/afternoons, Mennonite and Amish goods [and other stuff] for sale about 15 minutes up 14a)
This is a great place if you are looking for a quiet affordable place to hang out in the finger lakes region.
Peaceful, clean, secluded yet still minutes from Seneca Lake/Watkins Glen fun
We stayed 2 nights at Janet & Jim's peaceful country home to attend the Watkins Glen Nascar race weekend. We are so glad that we chose this property to stay at! It was clean, quiet & had everything we needed. The race track was a short driving distance (& the town & State Park even closer).
We used the grill one night & had dinner at Jerlando's the next. On Jim's recommendation, we also made time to visit The Windmill, which sells many local Mennonite goods.
The eat-in kitchen has a big picture window to enjoy your morning coffee while watching the birds, bunnies & chipmunks. There is also a great front porch with chairs & a hammock. With this hot summer, we were also happy to find that the home had window a/c units.
We would stay again in a heartbeat!
Stayed for a weekend with friends and was pleasantly surprised by how quiet, private and peaceful the property was yet it was close to all the wineries. We enjoyed sitting on the covered front porch and the entire house was very clean. There were even fresh cut flowers awaiting us on the kitchen table. Although not a brand new home it is very clean and simple and that makes up for it. Will definitely be returning for another getaway !
Very beautiful place well kept and clean
We all had a great time thanks to Jim and Janet. It was nice to come back to this after a day in the glen. Thanks again
Beautiful and welcoming
I dont know where to start, I have to say this place exceeded our expectations. It definitely felt so welcoming the moment you arrive, pictures dont do its justice, the place is super clean and very nice, it had everything we needed. I will definitely go back. Thank you Janet and Jim for allowing us to stay and for always answering so fast.
