We purchased this property because it was next door to our other rental property. We love the beautiful view.
This cottage is on beautiful Golden Lake. It's a very large lake with miles and miles of boating and of course fishing. Large mouth bass and pickerel. Golden Sands is just a 5 minute boat ride for good food and Spa. Spectacular view of the lake from the deck. The lake is just steps from the deck. Firepit for evenings to hang out for a drink and good conversation with friends and family.
Three generations, 6 people including 3 kids, all enjoyed our week at this spacious property. Lots of room to roam both inside and out, regardless of the weather given the Bunkie can be used for kids to play during the evening and rainy days, or on the large deck or grassy slope during nicer days. The sandy bay is sheltered, shallow and warm - perfect for little kids to play with minimal cause for concern. Although even the smallest of boats requires paddling or pushing out to deeper water before lowering the motor, the supplied lake map within the cottage gives you solid indication of depths and areas to avoid. High water levels this year had caused significant standing water in the bush behind the cottage access road and therefore a very large supply of mosquitos to the area, but the gentle breezes out to the water in the evening were enough to keep the majority at bay as we enjoyed campfires nearly every evening. The cottage has all the required amenities with quick and realtively short distance access to Killaloe and Eganville for groceries, or just walk 5 minutes to Bonnechere Lodge for some ice cream. Our hosts were very gracious and attentive to all our questions and needs (very few) and wanted to ensure that our stay was comfortable and met our expectations. The cottage is in high demand having spoken with numerous people in the area who have family or friends stay there year after year, so here's hoping that we have opportunity to return again next year!
