About Sioux-z Jessup

Hi! I am Tom's friend, Sioux-z (Suzie). I am thrilled to be managing these AWESOME townhouses & apartments that Tom built and designed. Tom is really busy constructing other masterpieces, so I am your contact person. I will leave check-in instructions once you book. I have hosted travelers from all over the world. I am a Southern California native and both Tom and I are proud to call UCLA our alma mater.

Born and raised in Southern California, I can answer any questions you have ... things to do, restaurants, favorite coffee haunts, museums, off the beaten path LA, and great foot massage places after a long day of touring!

I have traveled the world solo, climbed an active Volcano in Nicaragua, trekked to Loh Manthang, crashed a hot air balloon in Bagan, Myanmar, spent a bit of time in the Peruvian Amazon with a Shaman and yet ... Los Angeles is still my favorite place in the world.

When I am traveling, I look for a safe place that has a clean bathroom and comfortable bed.

My motto? When in doubt, plunge ahead idiotically.

Come stay in "The House That Tom Built" -- I guarantee, you will have a fabulous adventure!

Why Sioux-z Jessup chose Venice

Location. Location. Location. Both the townhouses and apartments are is in one of the most popular tourist areas of Los Angeles, hands down. 5 blocks to the beach, walking distance to world class restaurants, lots of outdoor activities, and entertainment galore. Walk down the block to hear music, watch street performers, get your palms read, check out the oceanfront Venice Skate Park, and then walk to one of LA's finest eateries. Venice Beach has it all. I grew up in Los Angeles and living near the beach has always been a real draw for me. Also, parking can be a nightmare in Venice. During the construction of this property, parking was a top priority. Parking is so easy here. No elevators. No fuss. Park in your assigned place and walk 20 feet to the front door. NOTE: One parking space for the 2 bedroom townhouses. There is NO PARKING for the studio apartments, but there is non-permit street parking on Ocean Ave. And you can park for free on Washington Blvd after 6pm. This neighborhood is such a microcosm of everything Los Angeles has to offer. It is incredibly colorful and vibrant. If I did not know anything about Los Angeles, this is the exact spot I would want to visit. It is walking distance to the beach and also freeway close. Public transportation is easy as well.

What makes this apartment unique

This is brand new apartment. Tom spent a lot of time on detail creating the perfect space for travelers to relax and unwind. All the appliances are new with state of the art cookware, if you decide to dine inside. Your own parking space is right outside the apartment, so need to walk or carry your luggage too far.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

  • 5 of 5

The unit was tastefully furnished and the location was great as it is a few blocks from the ocean. We rented a car but it remained parked during our stay because we walked everywhere. Parking adjacent to the unit was also a plus.

There’s a great Farmer’s market every across from the library (a few blocks from the unit). We purchased some items and made dinner. We also ate at the Flower Child and the Butcher’s Daughter. I recommend these restuarants if you are a vegetarian, vegan, and plant-based.

We had a great time! I would definitely stay here again.

Some attention needed

  • 3 of 5

Overall good location if spending time on the boardwalk or the beach. Downfall on a busy corner and very loud and noisy at night . Clean, with the exception of the master bathroom shower drain was totally backed up and made the bathroom smalwlly and unusable. Couldn’t get the coin washer to work, but laundry business across the street was helpful. Location was very secure and we felt safe.. Overall we had a good stay.

Great location!

We had a wonderful stay. The condo was clean and in a great location. The only con was the shower in the larger bedroom. It took a long time to get hot and had terrible water pressure. Everything else was perfect. Highly recommended!
