Enjoy all that Loudoun has to offer from our comfortable 2 BR barn apartment. Watch the grapes grow from the windows, walk to the nearest winery, or go rafting, biking, ziplining, or hiking at nearby Harper's Ferry Adventure Center or the Blue Ridge Center for Environmental Stewardship. Dine out at some of the area's fabulous restaurants or pick up locally grown products from nearby farms and cook dinner in the kitchen. This is a great place to be active, or just to hang out. The farm is a National Wildlife Federation Certified Wildlife Habitat, and you never know who might make an appearance! We see everything from herons and black ducks to spotted salamanders, turtles, foxes, hawks and once even an eagle. What you don't see you may hear; screech, barred, barn, and great horned owls all call at times and occasionally you may even hear coyotes. The apartment can accommodate four adults, or two adults and up to three children. Ask about our equine accommodations if you are attending a local show or clinic.

We really enjoyed our stay at the barn apt. We loved that it was a certified wildlife habitat. We did enjoy seeing some beautiful animals.....deer, geese, a possum and a bat, also many birds. The host is communicative and very easy to work with. I recommend this for a family with young children. You could fit three children on the second bedroom and they would love the farm.
Great getaway, close to fun activities
This place is perfect for nature-lovers like us! Pete and his family also were great hosts! If there's any detail they've overlooked, they are quick to fix it. We also enjoyed meeting the resident hens and horse. The barn was very comfortable, with most of the comforts of home. The view of grape arbors from the windows is beautiful! We also loved the sounds of the crickets and frogs at night, and you would never know you're only 15 minutes from Harper's Ferry. (Note: our family enjoys them, but if frogs and insects make you squirm, you may want to visit during a season other than summer... ) We'd recommend that the beds, which are comfortable, are best suited for three people, since the fold-out futon sofa has no mattress, and the floor isn't carpeted. Overall, a great getaway!
