Buddy and Judy Burch
About Buddy and Judy Burch
Floridians Buddy and Judy discovered Edenton quite by accident six years ago while on their way to vacation in Nags Head. It was love at the first sight of Edenton Bay and the outrageously friendly people who live here. They came back to visit Edenton five-times and then purchased their first home here. Three years ago they bought the historic 1775 Millen House on Edenton Bay. The renovation of the courtyard and carriage house has seriously been a labor of love. They are now ready to share it with others. Known around Edenton as, "the porch people," most evenings find them in rocking chairs with their dog Bentley Bo , chatting with passers-by and enjoying the breeze off the water. Southern hospitality is spoken here and the Burch’s invite you “Come rock a spell.”

Why Buddy and Judy Burch chose Edenton
Location! Location! Location! Friendliest people ever!!!!! The history in Edenton is amazing and the waterfront is so beautiful. There are wonderful shops on Broad Street and great places for dinner. People still porch sit, walk dogs, ride bikes and talk with neighbors here. It is charming and quaint and it just felt right.
What makes this Guest House unique
It is seriously the location! You really can park your car and put on your walking shoes or grab a bike your entire stay. Upon arrival, you will be greeted with a fruit 'n' cheese basket to unwind with and a goodie basket for breakfast. You will find chilled water, sweet tea and orange juice in your mini frig. Fine linens and a basket of toiletries are a sign you are at Burch House and we are so happy to host you. All furnishings are either custom designed or real antiques. Swivel rockers in the living room beg you to snuggle up and read one of the many books you will find in the antique secretary. A Welcome to Edenton and BHBTB book, written by your hosts, will provide you with all the information needed to fully enjoy this fascinating historic town. Two TV's, a VCR, movies, games and a clock radio are also at your fingertips. Charming carriage house
Lovely carriage house in a quaint waterside town. Lots of history to see. Friendly people. We were not disappointed and Judy was very welcoming. It was a little over an hours drive to Nags Head in the outer banks which was a nice day trip. If you are looking for a quiet getaway this place fits the bill!
Charming Carriage House
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this charming carriage house, close to downtown Edenton. Judy and Buddy are the most hospitable hosts we have ever met making our stay very welcoming and relaxing. A lot of thought was put into their transformation of this beautiful carriage house. My family loved being able to use the bicycles and kayaks. Sitting on their front porch looking at the water and feeling the breeze in the evening was so relaxing. We can’t wait to visit again.
If relaxing peace is what you are looking for
We stayed at Judy & Buddy place and it was beyond words beautiful, they were awesome, so warm and inviting, they greeted us like we were family and made us feel like we belonged there. The carriage house is so well layed out. They have a great place, Edenton is a treasure, the people there are great, small town atmosphere, charming downtown in walking distance. Perfect for when you just need to unplug and reconnect!
Eden in Edenton!!
Judy and Buddy were wonderful and hospitable hosts and their comfy and spacious carriage house was the perfect place for us this weekend! It is just as described and shown in the photos -- the lovely antiques, colors and homey touches were everywhere. We used their kayaks which was such a nice perk! We were in town for the annual Paddle, Pedal and Plod triathlon and the Burch house was the perfect location for staging. I cannot think of enough great things to say! Till next time.....
All you could want...and more
Staying at the Burch House was a real pleasure. Very comfortable, great location, and charming hosts. Sitting on the front porch chatting with a glass of wine was a wonderful way to end the visit. Wish I could have stayed longer.
The Burch House was everything we hoped for, a beautiful place in a beautiful small historic town. Buddy and Judy were so gracious. They made us feel like old friends on our first meeting. This rental is elegant yet comfortable and in a perfect setting on the waterfront. We stayed a week and had the best vacation experience. Highly recommend.
