Dream come true!
This property is exceptional! Sparkling clean, light, happy and we’ll appointed with everything we needed for a dream trip.
It was perfect for us! Comfy bed and absolutely clean as a whistle. The location is ideal, close to the epic and beautiful Sunset Beach where the water is crystal clear and was perfect for swimming and long lazy days. Stay here! You will love it!
Great location on the North Shore
Loved the location of this property - walking distance to the beach, and Ted's bakery, and Sunrise Shack. And then an easy drive to all of the North Shore attractions, beaches and food. The apartment is spacious and covers all basic needs & requirements. Easy parking right out front. Great kitchen facilities. A few updates and extras would be great to make the stay a little more comfortable. Even though the floors were really dirty on our arrival, the host was quick to provide us with some cleaning equipment. And even though it's out of the host's control - the rooster... every morning between 3-4am it will wake you up if you're a light sleeper!! And the apartment is also on the corner of a busy highway and it is loud at all hours when cars/trucks go past. No air conditioning and the one overhead fan doesn't do a great deal - in case that's an issue for you. Overall, a great location and place to base yourself for a north shore adventure, just a few updates would help it reach it's potential. For those without kids 4 stars - those with kids probably 3 stars - but we'll give the 4 star rating for the host even those we travelled there with a 1 and 3 year old!
Adequate and good value for the price.
Unit was basically clean and decently furnished but it is tired and past due for a deep clean. It offered zero storage for clothing. No dressers or closet of any kind so no where to hang anything you don't want to keep unwrinkled (we were going to attend a wedding so we had dress clothes that fit this need). Stairs to loft are extremely steep so forget taking any heavy bags up there. There is a large area of 'dead space' in the corner so I would highly suggest the owners add a closet or some sort of storage unit to make much needed use of that space. But the biggest issue I had was that only three bath towels, one hand towel, and one roll of TP were provided for two people for an 8 day stay. We had to buy TP half way through. I'm sure I could have contacted the owner to get more but I don't feel I should have had to do that. I feel that the unit should have been stocked ahead of time with more than enough supplies to support the anticipated needs of the occupants. There are also zero towel racks or hooks in the bathroom so no where to hang those overly used bath towels except the shower rod, which was loose and kept falling off the wall. There were plenty of lovely big beach towels however. Unit is right off the highway so road noise is quite loud but it becomes white noise and was not too big of an issue. Roosters in the early morning hours were more of an annoyance but hey, that's Hawaii so can't fault anyone for that. We also wished there was some outdoor lounge furniture on the lanai so we could have actually utilized that space. Owner did allow us to store our luggage on site on check out day since we had a late night flight and did not want to leave it in our car while we shopped North Shore, which was very nice and accommodating. So to summarize; decent unit for a decent price and nice owners, but did not meet my expectations 100%.
Great unit at great location!
Hostess was great to work with, very accommodating. The unit was very clean and well furnished. For those with kiddos, be cautious of stairs/ladder leading to the bedroom upstairs. Great experience overall.
Perfect spot for us.
We loved staying in Haleiwa.
the sunset studio is located 3 blocks from the famous Ted's bakery and across the street from Phantoms. Turtle bay is aprox. 3 miles to the north and food land is 3 miles to the south. There are great family beaches and surfing within walking distance of the house.
