About Todd Hannon
Alex and I met the first day of college back in Iowa and have been together ever since. After graduating and moving to Oregon, we've always dreamed of owning a little cottage in Cannon Beach and we still can't quite believe we actually made that happen! CB Cottage is our favorite place on earth! It's where we come to unwind, to relax, to leave behind the stress of our busy lives in Portland, Oregon, where I am a medical librarian at Kaiser Permanente's Center for Health Research. Alex worked as a graphic designer and antiques dealer before she got diagnosed with terminal breast cancer in late December 2017; she's now focusing on her health and family. You'll find both our tastes very much represented at CB Cottage, from our love for fine art and modern design to Alex's passion for antiques, most of which were brought back from our travels in northern Europe, where she spent the first 16 years of her life (born to Dutch parents, her family moved around between Holland, Germany and Denmark).
Todd Hannon purchased this Cottage in 2010
Why Todd Hannon chose Cannon Beach
CB Cottage is a very special place. It's close to the beach (just 2 blocks), yet you're surrounded by tall evergreens and off the beaten path. Cannon Beach itself is a wonderful community filled with a vibrant little downtown that has a grocery store, lots of restaurants, several pubs, pizzerias, and some wonderful shopping. Hemlock (the main street) is just one block from the ocean so you're never far from the beach.
What makes this Cottage unique
We've lovingly updated the interior while keeping lots of the original charm of this 1940s cottage. Soothing shades of grey and white sprinkled with accents of blue and aqua infuse the cottage with a distinct beach vibe. Mix in some natural elements such as wood, sisal, and linen along with original paintings and creative art prints, and you get right to the heart of CB Cottage: a rustic-meets-modern, artistic oasis.

Great cottage in a perfect spot.
We recently spent part of our Spring Break at CB Cottage for the second year in a row. We arrived this year to find it just as great as we remembered. Perfect fit for our family of four; great location with easy walks to the beach, shops, restaurants, etc; Fenced yard for our dog and a BBQ on the deck for grilling. The list could go on but suffice it to say, we have truly enjoyed our stays at CB Cottage.
Adorable, beach house with thought to all of the details!
Clean, well appointed house within walking distance of beach and shops!
Cozy home away from home
While we were only at Todd and Alex's cottage for two nights, it was a restful, comfortable stay for my husband, myself, and our two children. We took multiple walks to the beach (very nearby), baked a bit on rainy nights (the kitchen is amply outfitted for this), and drove downtown for dining/shopping (we would walk if it was just adults, but with two little ones, driving the approx 1/2mi was better). It was also a very short drive north to Ecola State Park, with not-to-miss hiking.
The house itself is beautiful. We particularly appreciated the linens (comfy bed covers; high-quality kitchen towels; soft, thick bath towels; and cozy living room pillows and throw blankets), and the artwork displayed throughout the home. This is clearly a lovingly-prepared environment.
I am already looking forward to our next stay!
Can't wait to come back again soon
Great cottage, great location
Really well-appointed cottage only three blocks from the beach. Plenty of room for 3 adults and two dogs. The fenced yard is a big plus. Comfortable beds and the kitchen was really well-equipped. Would definitely stay here again.
Cozy cottage perfection
Walking access to everything - the beach, coffee, brewpub, and shops. Happy parents, happy boys, happy puppy. We truly love Alex and Todd's beach cottage. It is elegant, cozy and accessible. Few options exist for families with pets. But here, the fenced yard made it so easy to let puppy go out without a leash - and we got to stay dry at the door. And they've thought of everything, including blankets and towels for the dog. None of us wanted to leave this coastal haven.
