Why Julie Knoedler chose Portland

This is a stand alone, very private space. It is nicely decorated and has all of the amenities you would expect in a much more expensive property.

What makes this studio unique

Location, comfort, and style! Alberta Arts is a Portland hot spot. The studio is just one block away from the festivities but private and quiet like a home away from home.

Comfortable and convenient digs

  • 4 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay in this garage apartment just a block away from the restaurants and shopping on Alberta St. Everything was fresh and clean, and a full kitchen offers the option of cooking if you want. The bathroom has a sliding pocket door and a generously sized shower with a good shower head that's high enough for at least a 6-ft-tall person. You can easily watch the TV from the couch or the bed. There's plenty of privacy too: the owner's house is completely separate from the apartment and even faces a different street, so you feel like you're in your own place.

The owner brought up a twin-sized bed, which fit between the couch and the kitchen, for our teen daughter -- a nice extra at no charge. A full-size washer and dryer downstairs was a huge plus at the end of a long road trip, when we really needed to do a couple of loads, and the owner provided detergent too. We were able to park in the driveway, which was nice since this area has a lot of cars on the street, and we never had to worry about finding a place to park.

A couple of small items would have made our stay even better: bedside lamps or wall sconces for reading in bed, and some wall hooks in the bathroom for hanging towels, robes, or clothes. Also, there were ants on the bathroom sink (coming in for water, we guessed), although they weren't much of a nuisance.

Aside from those minor things, we enjoyed the apartment very much and would definitely stay here again.

Extremely clean, wonderful, and comfortable stay in a great location

  • 5 of 5

We were 4 in our group, and though it was "cozy", we felt there was ample room to move around, cook, and enjoy some movie watching. Julie put in an extra bed and a trifold to accommodate us. We liked the shelf space and baskets for our things so the studio could be clutter free. Parking was easy. But the buses are nearby and could be easily accessed if coming without a car. We happened upon the Alberta Street Fair during our last day in Portland. What a great way to end our Oregon trip!

Perfect place for us!

  • 5 of 5

We had a fantastic time in the Portland area and it all begins and ends with this great studio apartment in the Alberta Arts District. It was the perfect size for us. New, very clean and quiet. The studio has a full kitchen and nice balcony. In a neat neighborhood just a block from all of the restaurants and shops on Alberta st. Grocery stores were close by as well. It is very convenient to the Portland Airport and going east along the Columbia River to Multnomah Falls and Mt Hood as well as easy access to Washington Park and going west to the coast. Thanks Julie!!!! We will definitely come back again.

A fantastic, well appointed accommodation in a wonderful area with quick access to lots of sights!

  • 5 of 5

We absolutely loved our stay in Julie's studio apartment! Everything is new and clean and very comfortable. The washer and dryer were definitely appreciated.

The whole district is just amazing too! So much to explore and see in just a few blocks of the rental. We took in a different spot for coffee or supper every day and barely scratched the surface.

We also found the location great for day trips to different spots by car, but it was an easy 25 minute bike ride to downtown where we got to the awesome Portland Saturday Market.

We were so impressed with Portland's biking roads and system and our location was right in the heart of lots of different biking roads.

Julie was very friendly and helpful in making suggestions on various things. The apartment was so well set up that we never had any concerns or questions.

We really want to come to Portland again and would definitely stay at Julie's place! Would strongly recommend it to anyone heading to Portland!

Great place to explore Alberta arts district!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for two nights in this charming studio apartment. We were visiting Portland without a car and wanted to explore different neighborhoods. This place was conveniently located, just a block from Alberta street on a quiet street. It was easy to get to by public transportation, and we thoroughly enjoyed walking down Alberta street and exploring what it has to offer. The apartment itself was comfortable, clean, and spacious enough for the two of us. Julie the owner was extremely nice and helpful. Overall, a great place, one we would book again next time we visit this neighborhood!
