Why Jane chose Michigan

We looked for many years to find vacation home that was right for us. We wanted a place directly on the waterfront so we could enjoy the water. But we also wanted to have plenty of other things to do while on vacation. The Traverse City area was perfect with its beautiful lakes, exceptional arts and cultural centers, nature activities, wineries and a bustling downtown area for shopping and restaurants. We are sure you will fall in love with the area like we did.

Relaxing

Cottage was very nice and clean. Jane was great in communication and was quick to respond to any questions. Lake is quiet, but also close to many of our favorite attractions. I will certainly recommend this property to friends.

A Best Kept Secret on Duck Lake.

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time during our stay. We were so pleased! The Cottage was just as presented in the listing… cozy, clean, comfortable, and close to town and Interlochen. It had everything we needed and more. Jane is a great host. The lake is beautiful and a lot larger than we thought. We really enjoyed the fishing and kayaking, and the location was close to so many activities. But after enjoying all the activities, quiet time on the deck overlooking the lake was amazing. Even though we stayed a week, it seemed much too short! I would definitely recommend it and plan to return

Clean home w/ nice view close to Interlochen and TC activities

  • 4 of 5

The owner, Jane, was very responsive, friendly, and helpful - a great host! The house was clean and comfortable. The only thing that prevented a 5-star Excellent rating was the lake frontage itself as there is a very small area of sand one can walk around in, but it drops-off quickly to weeds. It would certainly be Excellent if there was a true swimming area. We rented a boat while there a couple of days and the lake is huge (2,000+ acres) and shallow in many areas, so there are plenty of opportunities to anchor and swim. We attended a concert at Interlochen and of course went into Traverse City. I recommend and would consider returning.

There is so much to do in the Traverse City area, or you can do nothing but relax at the lake. A few favorite attractions are: Interlochen Center of the Arts, climbing the sand dunes at Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore, Golfing or Snowsports at Crystal Mountain Resort, Chateau Chantal winery tours, the National Cherry Festival and Traverse City Film Festival in downtown Traverse City, and hiking/biking/kayaking one of the many trails in the area - all within a short drive from the cottage.
