Overview

About the property

2 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, Sleeps 6

With views of the Atlantic Ocean from one side and those of the Intracoastal Waterway from the other, Windjammer 402 is like a little slice of heaven. In fact, the condo complex is a narrow slice of Anastasia Island nestled between the ocean and the river. This means you can savor both golden sunrises over the rolling surf and fiery sunsets above the quiet river--all from the privacy of your spacious 2-bedroom unit.

There’s plenty more to enjoy as well, of course: a private walkway to the sugary white sands of St. Augustine Beach, a fenced-in swimming pool, lighted tennis courts. You can stroll to Windjammer’s private pier on the famed Intracoastal, where you can launch a kayak or fish for flounder or trout--which you can grill on the complex’s outdoor barbecue.

Believe it or not, all that’s within walking distance. Once you hop in your car, you’re just minutes from historic St. Augustine and Marineland, not to mention plenty of restaurants, shops, and golf courses. Even the Orlando theme parks are only a day trip away.

Despite all the sights and outdoor activities at your disposal, you do have to come indoors sometimes, and Windjammer 402 is a lovely place to come home to.

The deck opens onto the living room, which is elegantly furnished with plush seating you’ll love sinking into. There’s plenty of room for everyone to kick back and watch a movie on the TV with DVD player, surf the web via our free wifi, play a game of cards, or settle in with a good book.

The dining area is just beyond the living area. Enjoy the spacious table with padded chairs designed for lingering long after the meal is over. Should you need more room--or should the kids want to sit away from the adults--there’s a breakfast bar with counter stools just behind the table.

Where there’s a breakfast bar, there’s a kitchen, and ours is stocked with all the appliances, cookware, and tableware you need, whether you’re cooking a Thanksgiving feast or simply warming up leftovers from the previous evening’s restaurant dinner.

To make the most of all the activities at your disposal, you need a good night’s sleep. Windjammer 402’s bedrooms all but guarantee pleasant dreams. The master suite is palatial, with a king-size bed, an en-suite bath, an HDTV with a Blu-ray DVD player, and perhaps best of all, doors that lead out onto the deck. In fact, you can gaze out at the Atlantic without leaving the bed! At least one morning you should set your alarm just so that you can relish the sun rise while propped up on your pillows.

The 2nd bedroom has its own gorgeous view, this time of the Intracoastal—and yes, you can watch the boats sail past from the comfort of its queen-size bed and a bunk bed with 2 single beds (sleeps 4). Or if that doesn't float your boat, you can catch up on the latest t.v shows with your own personal television. Talk about luxury! The living room has a queen-sized sleeper sofa bed, looks out onto the ocean.

The 2nd bedroom and the living room share the 2nd bathroom. Linens, towels, and plenty of blankets and pillows are provided, and the unit has its own washer and dryer, so you can pack light.

It’s tough for us to single out what we love most about Windjammer 402: having the beach as our backyard, the swimming pool surrounded by leafy palm trees, the Intracoastal only a short walk away, the front-row view of spectacular sunrises and sunsets… See for yourself; book your reservation today!

wonderful view

 • 5 of 5

Arrived to unseasonably cold weather in an area of the country I was not familiar with. The condo was as great as the pictures. My husband and I enjoyed the St Augustine area very much. The history was everywhere. When the weather warmed up in a few days we enjoyed the different nature preserves with hikes. This condo is convenient to everything. We even spent a day trip in NASA, Cape Canaveral. The condo was really a home away from home. Nothing can beat waking up to the sunrise on the ocean side and the sunset over the river.

Nice area, nice unit, not clean

 • 3 of 5

Unit 402 Windjammer is as shown, and as described in other reviews. Too many pillows, no room for food, but comfortable and equipped. Fridge alarm is annoying, A/C fan runs for 30 minutes every hour-? Great spot, pelicans glide by so close it seems you could touch them. Great view. Plenty of very good restaurants in the area-way better than where we live in Bonita Springs. Biggest issue we had was not the unit itself so much as the cleaning/management, over 1/3rd of the silverware, plates, glasses & cookware were dirty-food dried on them-when we moved in. Master bed/bath area smells of urine. The grout in the tiled area is so black that we thought that was the original color, but, umm, no- look under the TV to see what it should look like. Porch had not been cleaned, food under the dirty chair & table combo. Can't fault the owners, but the cleaning crew dropped the ball. Whoever stayed there and left the unit that way before us should be ashamed. That was disgusting. Also the towels are a bad joke. Nothing matches, but the cleaning crew actually left us a towel with multiple holes in it-Folded And Left On The Master Bed! Nice way to start your vacation. Thanks Vacation Rental 'Pros'. ha We would probably return, but not to this unit as long as the same management company is in charge. When we called with our check-in info,, they asked if we wanted them to send the cleaners back to clean again. We decided against that idea - if they didn't bother the first time, why would they get it right now? And we darn sure didn't want to hover over them & show them how to wash dishes etc. The area, including Windjammer got damaged from Irma, Matthew and other storms this summer (2017) and even some of the local parks are closed due to wind and saltwater flooding.

The area was nice....

 • 3 of 5

The beach and Windjammer was a nice place. The condo unit, we had several issues with, but nothing that can not be fixed. The first night we got there, there was 1 washcloth in the whole condo unit. So the next day we were out buying washcloths, which I left a few for the next guest. My next issue, the master bedroom was again, beautifully decorated but it had a huge Jacuzzi tub. I'm not much on using those when I'm on vacation. Then you go in another small area and there's a shower and the stool. My husband and myself are small to average sized people. A larger person could not fit in there very well. I would suggest taking the jacuzzi tub out and enlarge the shower area. Our toilet overflowed about the 3rd day. My husband is a handy man so he plunged it and it worked better than it had since the first day we were there. The ceiling fan didn't work in the guest bedroom. The kitchen had nice appliances but there is no empty cabinet space to put your groceries. Master bed sheet had a stain on it, and there was a pillow in the guest bedroom closet that had some huge nasty stain on it. These last few things I would blame on housekeeping. They should take care of this sort of thing. There may be a few more minor things I can't think of. We were very disappointed in these small things, starting with no washcloths. Nothing that would ruin your vacation, but things that you shouldn't have to deal with and just disappointing when you spend so much money to stay somewhere for your vacation.

402 Windjammer

 • 4 of 5

We had a great time in St. Augustine! The Condo complex is right on the beach, and the grounds and facilities were well maintained. Our unit was relatively small, but very nice. It was cozy for the 4 of us, but I would not rent it with any more than 4 adults in the group. Great views of the sunrise over the ocean! It was an easy 15 - 20 minute drive up A1A to St. Augustine, and all of the restaurants we stopped at along the way, and in the historic district were fantastic. We will definitely be coming back again if we get the opportunity to do so!

BE WARNED- CARS ALLOWED TO DRIVE ON the BEACH at the WINDJAMMER!

 • 1 of 5

I wish I could give this condo a better review, but VRBO and Vacation Reality Pro DID NOT DISCLOSE that this condo sits on a beach, where cars are allowed to drive, just like Daytona Beach. I have a 4 year old daughter and booked this condo because I didn't want to worry about my young daughter dodging cars, while walking across the street to the beach. Instead, we end up having to worry about her dodging cars while playing on the beach.

There is a pretty beach view there, when 4x4 trucks were not driving by.

The condo needs to be decluttered, there were not a lot of places to put our things. I had to store food on kitchen counter, because there was no cupboards that had storage. Retro silk plants everywhere, and attack of the knick knacks.

The condo was reasonably clean. However, the beds were made with only one top sheet and I had to remake the beds.

The condo was not as well maintained, as others we have stayed at. The pool was small and not heated, a bit chilly, so we barely swam there.

The worst thing is that the code they gave us to get into the condo didn't work. After a long day and flight, we really didn't want to have to deal with that. My husband had to drive to the office twice and deal with rude and not helpful rep. Finally, after several attempts of me calling their main number and dealing with people who don't have a clue, we got a hold of someone knowledgeable on the after hours emergency number, even though it wasn't after hours.

The day after we arrive, we get an email from Vacation Rental Pros stating that we HAVE to let someone into the condo to clean the dryer vent, as there were no other days this could be done. I email Vacation Pros, to voice my frustration and never receive a response. Then a couple of days later, some guy is knocking on the door wanting to spray for bugs with my family there and nobody warned us about him coming.

We rent condos twice a year in FL and this was the worst experience we have had by far.

Never again going to use Vacation Rental Pros or stay at the Windjammer.
