Why Kelly Kilfoil chose Mt. Hood, The Gorge

We fell in love with Parkdale the first time we went there! It is a darling town with access to so many outdoor activities (or for just relaxing!). We spent the last ten years renovating the home so that we can spend more time there, and share it with others. Going to Parkdale is truly an escape, and is like stepping back in time. We take great pride in the work we put into renovating the home to make it cozy and comfortable and inviting. We also made sure that you can always take advantage of the absolutely incredible view of Mt Hood. When you see the view of Mt Hood it will take your breath away. We also loved that this house still had a lot of its original character (or we worked hard to bring back that character). From the clawfoot tub to the original kitchen cabinets, it is a wonderful Craftsman home with the conveniences of modern living. We added a sunroom to the back of the house so that you could enjoy the view any time! You can easily drive up to the mountain to go skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, hiking, biking etc! You can also take a short drive into Hood River to go eat, shop, get coffee, windsurf, kayak, you name it!!

What makes this house unique

Ideal location for many activities. Also wonderful for attending weddings in the area. Great home for a small family or group.

As good as advertised !

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time. Unfrotunately our time in Oregon coincided with those terrible forest fires and dampened the experience somewhat but the rental itself was great !

Great house and location

  • 5 of 5

The house was a great base camp for our daily excursions around the Mount Hood and Columbia River Gorge areas. The rooms were very comfortable and the kitchen was well-stocked, making it easy to prepare dinner. We loved waking up to the views of Mount Hood each morning. Kelly was very responsive to our questions and was very easy to work with. I would highly recommend this rental.

The house was great, the location was perfect for us, and the view of the mountain was incredible. Would definitely stay there again if we're in the area.

Perfect house and location

  • 5 of 5

While I knew we would have a view of Mount Hood, I didn't know it would be so close and so majestic. We liked daytime views and sunset views. The adorable house was very comfortable for 4 of us. Very tastefully furnished, and the kitchen had everything we could possibly need. The Parkdale location was great for hikes on both Mount Hood and the Columbia River Gorge. I've never seen so many waterfalls. We were there during the severe heat wave and managed to stay cool by taking shady hikes, a whitewater rafting trip on the White Salmon River and spending a day on the pristine Lost Lake. We were always happy to come home to our house in the evening, usually cooking in. Good grocery store. I strongly recommend the house.

Lovely, comfortable, everything we needed and more.

  • 5 of 5

A great place for our family to use as "base camp" for our excursions around Mt. Hood

and walking distance to several great eateries, very nice local grocery, beautiful park and so

much more. The rooms were comfy and the master bath with the whirlpool tub was a

welcome amenity after our hiking adventures. Thank you so much.

The photos of place do not do it justice!

  • 5 of 5

We spent a week of our honeymoon here. The views and proximity to Mt . Hood are unparalleled. Especially loved the master suite with spa level bath and French doors to balcony with view of mountain and wildflowers. Bed was king-size comfort and i tried to find label of pillows and comforters so I could buy same for mine. Literally, don't bring anything but clothes and food (nearby grocery) Kelly supplied all cooking supplies. Silverware and plates all matched and were top of line. I imagine it would be great for family or two couples but we certainly would recommend to any couple wanting quiet romantic privacy.

Our home is located in the heart of Mt Hood Parkdale, Oregon. It is a small, quaint town with an historic ice cream store, an excellent local BBQ restaurant, and a friendly grocery store. It is the last stop for the Mt Hood Railroad and we have the most magnificent view of Mt Hood in our backyard! We are located 15 miles south of the fabulous and vibrant town of Hood River, and 15 miles north of amazing skiing, hiking, and other outdoor activities all over Mt Hood.
