Why Kelly Kilfoil chose Mount Hood
We fell in love with Parkdale the first time we went there! It is a darling town with access to so many outdoor activities (or for just relaxing!). We spent the last ten years renovating the home so that we can spend more time there, and share it with others. Going to Parkdale is truly an escape, and is like stepping back in time. We take great pride in the work we put into renovating the home to make it cozy and comfortable and inviting. We also made sure that you can always take advantage of the absolutely incredible view of Mt Hood. When you see the view of Mt Hood it will take your breath away. We also loved that this house still had a lot of its original character (or we worked hard to bring back that character). From the clawfoot tub to the original kitchen cabinets, it is a wonderful Craftsman home with the conveniences of modern living. We added a sunroom to the back of the house so that you could enjoy the view any time! You can easily drive up to the mountain to go skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, hiking, biking etc! You can also take a short drive into Hood River to go eat, shop, get coffee, windsurf, kayak, you name it!!
What makes this House unique
Ideal location for many activities. Also wonderful for attending weddings in the area. Great home for a small family or group.
Breathtaking views! I’m in love with this little gem!
This family has done an amazing job of making this home shine. Being here is just what we needed to hit the relaxation reset button in this busy world. Waking up to Mt. Hood put a smile on my face every morning. The house has everything you need. My husband and I had an amazing weekend here! We even had a couple nights of life music that we listened to from the balcony (from a restaurant down the street) while drinkin’ in the sight!
Amazing views, house had everything we needed!
The views of Mt. Hood were extraordinary! The drive in to Parkdale from the E or W side provided amazing views as well. The house was very clean, well kept and provided sweet farm style details that made it feel like home. The house is prepped for older and younger children, including locking gates at all stair entrances! There was even a toddler seat cushion to go on top of the downstairs bathroom. The kids room included toys, books and a nook space where my girls enjoyed exploring and using their imagination before heading out to see what OR had to offer. The bathtub upstairs was enormous! And fun to play and relax in. The floor heating system was great to use during those early chilly mornings. The flooring throughout the house was pretty slick, so I recommend wearing grip socks, non slip house shoes or go barefoot. The basement provided more opportunity for our kids to play (darts) and we also used the exercise equipment. The kitchen was equipped with everything we needed. The microwave was hard for my wife to access and reach as she is only 5 foot but other than that all amenities were in great shape and accessible. The outdoor patio on first floor was nice to walk out to in the morning or before sunset. We also used the grilled outside and enjoyed cooking while taking in the view of Mt. Hood and the orchards. The upstairs patio was also a great place to relax and wind down with comfy chairs. The upstairs bed was soft and almost melted into your body. Parkdale was quiet and quaint. The house is walking distance to several small eateries, brewery, grocery store, church, etc. Overall, we loved the house and made some incredible memories! We were sad to leave but thankful to have been able to enjoy the home.
Felt like I was at home!
This house has everything you need. Shampoo, conditioner, dish soap, laundry soap, hairdryer, plus much more provided. All you need is some food and clothes. It is our new go to every time we visit family in the area. Thank you. The Canady’s
Such a Great Place
We stayed a week with our family in January and really enjoined our time. It’s a short walk to town, it has a beautiful view of Hood, and the house was very clean and well stocked. Will definitely return.
As good as advertised !
We had a great time. Unfrotunately our time in Oregon coincided with those terrible forest fires and dampened the experience somewhat but the rental itself was great !
Great house and location
The house was a great base camp for our daily excursions around the Mount Hood and Columbia River Gorge areas. The rooms were very comfortable and the kitchen was well-stocked, making it easy to prepare dinner. We loved waking up to the views of Mount Hood each morning. Kelly was very responsive to our questions and was very easy to work with. I would highly recommend this rental.
Our home is located in the heart of Mt Hood Parkdale, Oregon. It is a small, quaint town with an historic ice cream store, an excellent local BBQ restaurant, and a friendly grocery store. It is the last stop for the Mt Hood Railroad and we have the most magnificent view of Mt Hood in our backyard! We are located 15 miles south of the fabulous and vibrant town of Hood River, and 15 miles north of amazing skiing, hiking, and other outdoor activities all over Mt Hood.
