Absolutely Great Place for a Family Vacation!

  • 5 of 5

We had an exceptional week-long stay at this beautiful beach house on Lake Champlain. The views from the house were terrific. We saw some beautiful sunsets! The house was well-appointed and tastefully decorated. The extra "perks" -- bicycles, kayak, paddleboards -- were used and much appreciated. The house did not disappoint in any way; in fact, it exceeded our expectations. It provided the perfect setting for a memorable family vacation . . . and we hope to return!

We had an AMAZING stay at this beautiful beach house situated on Lake Champlain's sandy beach . The house is as pretty as the owner's pictures and very clean! The only thing the pics can't show is the relaxing vibe you feel from the constant cooling breeze mixed with the peaceful sound of the water lapping the shore. We only had 1 problem with a broken paddle board, from the previous renters, and Lisa (the owner) provided a replacement that day! Can't ask for more than that! Everyday we kayaked and paddled board with our 2 teenagers to discover different areas of the lake. We also used the bicycles, provided by Lisa, to ride to the nearby park and play tennis. Biking on the incredibly scenic causeway leading to South Hero Island even impressed our teenagers....that's never an easy task! We additionally rented the house to travel into Burlington as it's only 20 minutes away. My son toured University of Vermont and decided it's his number 1 college choice! We spent several evenings in the down town Burlington area, as well, due to the incredible waterfront area, restaurants and pedestrian only market place. So much to do and enjoy, you will not be disappointed, we weren't!!

What a treat!!!

I am from VT and have always wanted to stay in a cottage on the lake with my family. Summer Wind more than exceeded my expectations. The accommodations were great. I would say the only negative is the bedroom closest to the kitchen did not have a closet or dresser (minor detail for us). The well stocked kitchen worked well for my family. The beds were comfy and plenty of towels and linens were available. The property is about 20min from downtown Burlington which was great as we had numerous activities to attend in BTV for a family wedding.

My kids loved paddle boarding on the lake and the water temperature was awesome. We had amazing weather and enjoyed a fire in the fire pit on a couple of evenings. And the view of the lake! Gorgeous! I felt my blood pressure go down a few points as soon as I saw that view.

I highly recommend this property and would return again in a heartbeat.
