Experience Cambria in this spotlessly clean, bright, one-story cottage home so near the rolling hills and vistas of windswept Fiscalini Ranch Preserve, that you can hear the waves break.
This welcoming cottage features two large bedrooms and a full bath complete with luxurious linens. Enjoy a sweet peek at the Pacific when you rise each morning, and warm yourself by the fireplace on each cozy Cambria evening of your stay. Enjoy your coffee on the front porch peeking at the gorgeous Pacific through the pines and planning your day's adventures in Cambria and the surrounding areas, including Hearst Castle and the Central Coast's award-winning vineyards.
The picket fenced patio and backyard offer up scents of fresh herbs and indigenous flowers and plants. Perhaps a glimpse of a doe and her fawn as they ramble freely on the quaint streets that surround Pacific Peeks Among the Pines.
Where to begin? Hearing waves lull you to sleep at night? The great small town feeling? We fell in love with Cambria and know you will too.
A sweet place to kick back and recharge.
If you are looking for a quiet, serene, comfortable, relaxing, and spotlessly clean place to enjoy on your exploration of the central coast of California, this is a wonderfully peaceful getaway spot located in the hills above the town of Cambria. Located in a quiet neighborhood, minimally but adequately furnished, and with a quiet little patio for reading or enjoying your morning coffee. Owner attentive and wonderfully responsive to needs. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely do it again! We found that being located away from the weekend crowds in Cambria was perfect for us - we were close enough to shop, eat, etc. but just enough away to not feel stressed by the crowds. Our favorite restaurant was Indigo Moon - do try their lobster bisque when it's on special!
My husband and I rented “Pacific Peak Among the Pines” for three days in March, 2016. I woke to the sounds of birds and, if I listened carefully, the distant sound of crashing waves. The first adjective I have to use is CLEAN! Everything was pristine, from the gorgeous wood floors to the smooth white ceilings. The décor was “beachy” and simple, with enough art on the walls to make the space inviting without being overly cluttered. There was not one repair issue, not one smudge, not one amenity missing. This rental was everything it promised and I couldn’t have been happier.
We slept in the larger of the two rooms. The bedding was soft and comfortable, with an attractive and upscale pattern that was still homey. The room had plenty of space for our things, hangers in the closet for the coats, and yet had more personality than the average hotel room. The bathroom was not only clean but very well stocked. There were cotton balls and Q-tips in containers on the counter. There were also adorable and artesian individually wrapped soaps. Again, the perfect balance was struck between hotel and home. The kitchen was cozy and had all the pots, pans and dishes we could need. On day two and three, we made breakfast and it was wonderful to have the option. I kept thinking as I toured Hearst Castle that it was a good thing we had a big breakfast before leaving for the day.
Cynthia was amazingly available. Not only did she respond, sometimes within minutes, to every request and question I had during the booking process, she was available by text when we first arrived. My phone didn’t have reception in the house, but when we got into town I was able to text Cynthia to ask for the WiFi password and we were once again connected to the outside world.
My husband and I have different vacation needs—I want to get as far away from stress and crowds as I can and he wants to have new and interesting experiences. We try to find a quiet get-away that’s close to something exciting, but at the end of the day we’re coming back to some place peaceful. Cambria was exactly that—a quiet little community much like one you might find in the mountains, a very short jaunt from Hearst Castle with an adorable town to explore and a beach to walk on and listen to the waves. We were looking for a vacation spot that would work for both of us and we will be back. We might even take the kids next time, if they’re lucky. Thank you, Cynthia—nailed it!
Our five night stay was an experience we'd love to repeat! "Cambria, where the pines meet the ocean"…..is so true. From the front and side windows of this house you can see the ocean through the pines. We saw many deer and a couple turkeys out and about in the neighborhood. Don't miss the Fiscalini Ranch Preserve which runs alongside this neighborhood and the ocean. Fiscalini was the highlight of our trip!
This house was just right. The two bedrooms have large closets and the beds are amazing. You have to experience them! The kitchen has everything you need. (If you look online you can view photo's of what's there.) There are pots and pans. In the living room there is a large TV along with a gas fireplace that heats nicely. There is a washer and dryer in garage. WIFI provided. The back patio is in the middle of a lovely garden.
THIS PROPERTY IS CLEAN AND WELL MAINTAINED. Our favorite food in town. Creekside Garden Cafe, Sandy's Deli and Bakery and Lilly's Coffee House . All on Main St.
The owner of this property, Cynthia Abney, is a friendly and helpful person. She goes out of her way to make sure everything is perfect for your visit.
We'll be back,
Dan and Vicki Dendy
This quaint house met our needs perfectly. It was comfortable, clean and well-maintained. The owner was very helpful and quick to respond. I would definitely stay here again.
What a comfortable little cottage!! The cottage is minimally but adequately furnished and was clean when we arrived. WiFi worked well, as did the one TV in the living room and the radio in hall. It was a good home base as the cottage is within a 5-minute drive (10-15 min walk) to Fiscalini Ranch Preserve for hiking trails, most of which do not require dogs to be on leash (we walked almost every day—love, love, love the Ranch). Also Cambria is close to all the tourist spots--the Hearst Castle, the Piedres Blancas Elephant Seal Rookery, several wineries, Cayucos, and all of San Luis County. It’s about one and a half hours to Big Sur to the north and approximately a 40 min drive Paso Robles winery country (where we lucked into the Lavender Festival). The kitchen is small, but functional and has what looks like new appliances (no dishwasher) and many of the necessary accoutrements for light cooking. I especially liked the electric tea kettle (hot water carafe). We could see a small, distant view of the glistening ocean from outside the cottage (between the houses and through the trees). In all fairness, the description did say “In the Pines,” and it is that. Deer meander around the area all the time—some with and without antlers and some spotted babies—so cute!! Because of the draught, there is little greenery around, so it doesn’t really look like the photos anymore, but there is off-street parking, which is definitely a plus as the streets are very narrow. There is a small fenced-in back yard, not secure for big dogs who can jump, but mine liked to sun herself on the porch. The neighborhood dog walkers are very friendly, and the owner was very easy to work with and was readily available by text. Thank you, Cynthia.
