Beautiful cottage, quiet spot!

  • 4 of 5

Our family of four truly enjoyed our 5-night stay here at the end of Aug 2017. The cottage is in perfect, clean condition with everything you need at hand (even a selection of spices, condiments and other basics). It is at the top of the La Casa resort property so amenities are not as easy to get to (only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars). But that location also makes it fairly quiet. The path out back is great for a little hike or easy mountain bike ride.

There was plenty of space for all of us and the beds were super comfy! The master bedroom is a loft so beware you won't have full privacy if you need it. The upper deck was perfect for yoga and coffee in the morning.

We made pretty much all our meals at the cottage and ate on the main deck. The BBQ worked great (no propane tank to worry about). La Casa is about 40 mins from major shopping/groceries, so you do need to plan ahead. If you are looking to rent a boat, you can save yourself the drive to Kelowna or Vernon and go to the Lake Okanagan Resort about 10 mins south on the same road (figured that out on the last day).

The upper pool and hot tub (the quieter ones) are just a short walk down the road. The rest of the resort amenities (main pool, tennis, courts, cafe, store, beach) are best to drive to as the switchback road is a long walk and the beach is across the main road and down another steep road. It seemed all the owners had quads or golf carts to get around on.

All in all, it is a beautiful cottage and it delivered on our desire to relax for a few days! The owner was great to work with and responsive (though we had no issues during our stay). You won't be disappointed.

Serenity

  • 5 of 5

After deciding a little late to spend the long weekend in the Okanagan , you know, pick some delicious peaches, sample some local delicacies, farm fresh produce, goat cheese, a little wine , we struggled to find suitable accommodation, especially at a reasonable price. Unreasonable even for std hotel rooms. Thank goodness, we fell upon this beautiful house, new, fully furnished, impeccable and upscale I must say, in a remarkable resort. Of the sort we have rarely (never) seen in Canada, the beach marina area with its floating trampolines, and many deck chairs, some over the water, some in, transported us to a beach resort, in Canada ! The pools, hot tubs and tennis courts all impeccably maintained just as the gardens of all the homes making for a very pleasant and tranquil environment to relax in. The house had everything we need for a home away from home, we were able to relax on the upper balcony off the master bedroom in the mornings with coffee overlooking the lake ! before enjoying a home cooked breakfast on the large main deck again with a wonderful view of Lake Okanagan. Time to head down to the beach. Dinners were enjoyed on the main deck, something to be said about sun, deck, bbq and beer ! especially in a new luxurious, serenity filled lake cottage house. 9pm mmm how about a stroll over to the upper pools for a late night swim and hot tub or relax with a night cap on the back deck overlooking and taking in the smell of the pine forest. Many thanks to the home owners for the opportunity to enjoy and share their tranquil oasis !

Wonderful resort & beautiful cottage!

  • 3 of 5

We had a great time with the kids -- only downside to our stay here was that all the lake activities were not available due to the high water levels this year😪.

Owner's Response: So glad you enjoyed the resort and cottage. Yes it was to bad the floods and high water levels prevented the lake activities from being open but they take safety at La Casa seriously which we are thankful for. We hope you will come back again and visit, we enjoyed having you as our guest. Thanks again, Melodie

Fantastic cottage

  • 5 of 5

My wife, 2.5 year old son and I spent a long weekend at this beautiful property for a long weekend. The cottage and location was exquisite. Wonderful views of the lake from both decks & access to resort was a huge bonus. The owner was extremely responsive & provided us with all that we needed to know about the resort and area. We will be back on a regular basis, stellar experience.

Everything you could ask for ...

  • 5 of 5

Let me see if I can craft the appropriate words to fully describe this amazing property. Starting with the obvious, everything within the cottage was upscale. From the dishes to the sheets on the king size bed, it was all exceptional quality. Quality you rarely find in a rental property.

The interior of the cottage was tastefully done. Very aesthetically pleasing. A joy to spend time in.

Behind the property is a forest with extensive walking trails. If you follow the north trail for about 3 kms you will run across an abandoned homestead and meandering stream that feels like something out of a nature film. Incredible.

Looking out of the loft balcony you can see the lake. In the evening the vista is magical.

The owner was exceptionally helpful (and quite charming).

In fact, the experience was so good, we are now looking at purchasing a cottage in the same development.

I apologize for the over use of superlatives but it really was that good.

During the months of April -October Kelowna and Vernon have many festivals and events.

In winter be sure to take in the ski resorts that are within an hours drive from our corrage.
