Great Getaway

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I had the priveledge of spending a month at this property.

Upon arrival the house was exactly as advertised.

It has a very welcome and homey feel to it..

It comes very well equipped.

Any questions or concerns we had was handled quickly and efficiently by Lynn who owns the home

The city of Prescott is a five minute drive...a three minute walk puts you at the Athletic Club and a five minute walk gets you to the trailhead where one can walk or bike for miles..combine this with the fact it is nestled in a quiet community with ponderosa pines it is the ideal location.

We found people who live there to be very friendly..

The one recurring concern in the reviews we read before renting was the lack of cellular service at the home. And the need to get closer to Prescott or higher up the hill to get reception

We also had this problem but soon learned if you were with a major cellular provider and had a reasonably up to date phone (in our case an iPhone 5 )then all you had to do was turn on Wifi on your phone ,sign on to the internet at the house and problem was solved..We had no problem making or receiving phone calls and texts.

You may want to check with your provider to be sure they offer this service.

We can highly recommend Lynn's home in the pines..It was everything we wanted.

Even though we live a large distance from Prescott we are hoping to return at a future date to once again enjoy this property.

Beautiful and Cozy Cottage in perfect location!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at this cottage for 3.5 months and loved it! The location is great, just 10 minutes to Prescott square and activities, shopping, or Thumb Butte trail head, just 5 minutes to Little Granite Mountain trail, a short drive to beautiful Skull Valley and the views from Skyline drive, 15 minutes to Granite Mountain or the Dells. Two blocks to walk to the trails, tennis courts nearby. Seasonal creek runs through the property and is a joy for kids to play in and adults to listen to. The neighborhood is quiet for serene walks, lots of birds, javelinas, deer, and an occasional bob cat.

The cottage is beautifully decorated, and stocked with everything you may think of. Plenty of dishes, spices, kitchenware, cleaning supplies. We have Verizon service, and the signal for Verizon is a bit weak at this spot, some calls may drop. Great internet speed. Lynn had the home spotlessly clean prior to our arrival. Gorgeous porch under the pines.

We thoroughly enjoyed both the home and the location, and would definitely recommend this cottage for anyone wanting to explore the beauty of Prescott.

Wonderful place not so caring Owner

  • 4 of 5

The property was beautiful and situated in a great location, close to town and a lot of great restaurants. One thing I would suggest if you stay here before you sit in the dining room chairs check and make sure they're not loose or wobbly, I was sitting in one of the chairs and it just broke beneath me when I called the owner to let them know they said oh yeah we tightened the screws and had to reinforce one before you came but yet they had the nerve to charge me for it. My wife was walking down the stairs from the deck and the step broke beneath her, it was rotted and she fell into the driveway but they were only worried about getting money for the chair I was surprised she didn't try to charge me for the step, I believed it was the same type of situation. I wouldn't stay there again because of our problems but I still say it was a nice place

The property was everything advertised and more - Positive recommendation to friends

  • 5 of 5

Enjoyed the Athletic club pool and facilities that are in walking distance. We had perfect weather - some short time rain, clear sky with puffy clouds, two heavy rains in the night that provided a nice stream just off the deck, where we had breakfast under the umbrella. Only 2 negatives - which were: 1. the tap water - I bought drinking water at Frys - and 2. the cell phone only worked now and then on one bar and required walking up the street to get 2 bars.

Owner's Response: I'm sorry the tap water wasn't satisfactory! I've not had anyone mention it before, but I'm glad it didn't interfere with your enjoyment while staying at our home. And cell phone service does seem to correlate with your provider--we have AT&T and never have any problem in the house, on the deck, or in the neighborhood. That's one thing I can't control. :) You two were wonderful guests and I look forward to having you back next year!

Delightful stay at Kingswood Cottage in the Pines

  • 5 of 5

This was our first time using VRBO so we were apprehensive as to what we would find. However, this was a delightful six week stay as the cottage was spotlessly clean, well maintained, and decorated beautifully. Everything you need for a stay was provided... including soft linens, dishes, utensils, pots, pans, spices, soaps, etc. The photos in the listing depicted the cottage just the way we found it when we arrived. The area is quiet, cool, and enjoyable. All amenities such as grocery stories, etc. are a few minutes drive. There is a trail to Thumb Butte within walking distance from the cottage which was convenient. The cottage was very welcoming and perfect for the two of us. Friends, who live in Prescott, were envious when we told them we were staying in the pines and our description of the cottage.

Also a big bonus, Lynn, the owner, was quick to respond to our inquiries and questions by email or phone. She is very pleasant, prompt, and welcoming. Thank you for sharing your cottage.
