About Kathlyn Karpinski

Hi, my name is Kathy. My husband Ken lived on Hilton Head during the winter months of the year, spending our summer months in Ohio. I do all the bookings, and Frank, our Partner, does the $ part. Our arrangement has worked well for the past 13 years. Ken and I have been visiting HHI since the 80's, owned a Rental Condo in PD during the 90's, and finally purchased a home for ourselves in 2001. We love the Island and all it has to offer....the beach, boating, biking, shopping and fabulous restaurants.

Kathlyn Karpinski purchased this house in 2005

Why Kathlyn Karpinski chose Hilton Head Island

We have traveled with friends and have rented properties through VRBO. Most were fine, but some were a bit disappointing. We work hard to make sure our guests have everything they need, a fully stocked kitchen with everything you would have in your own kitchen, a superb cleaning/housekeeping crew, and a fabulous Rental Management Company who is quick to respond to any problems you might have.

What makes this house unique

The most compliments we receive from our guest is the closeness to the beach. The house is adjacent to the beach access path, so all you need to do is just walk out the front door or the back door and you've got about 65 steps to the beach! Another feature that people enjoy is the open floor plan and the separate bedroom layout.

Some of our guests comments include:

"The rooms are bright and airy and very pleasant."

"Wonderful to be able to all be together in one space, yet still have privacy at night"

"As a Chef, there is everything you need in a fully equipped kitchen"

Guestbook comments from the owner

This is long overdue – a tremendous thank you for a spectacular rental of your vacation home!

As first-timers to Hilton Head, we absolutely loved the island, the atmosphere, the beach, and the home. We appreciate your help in everything you did to assist in making our vacation a memorable experience. As soon as we walked in the front door of the home, we were already talking about how to come back in future years. The kids had a blast and the relaxation was plentiful.

I know this is long overdue as we have been home back in Texas now for over a week; however, I wanted to send you a quick note of thanks – we look forward to future years!

Great vacation house!

  • 5 of 5

We had a great vacation at 5 Junket in July. The house is in a great location and very close to the beach as advertised, without having to pay the fee for an oceanfront property. The layout of the house was perfect with 2 separate areas upstairs for 4 of the bedrooms. Kathy is a gem to work with and we cannot wait to return.

Excellent place to spend a vacation!!!

  • 5 of 5

We celebrated my wife and my 50th wedding at 5 Junket with our family of 11, consisting of 7 adults and 4 grandchildren (2 boys age 14 and 10) (2 girls age 18 and 15). Well we all had a ball! The bedrooms, open areas, pool, closeness to the beach (really is 65 steps) and the quietness of the area were really heaven on earth.

The kids and grandkids are ready to go back and we've only been home for 4 days. I really do hope those arrangements will be made sometime soon.

The house is close to all of the shopping you need; Krogers is 2.5 miles, Belks, Whole Foods, and others in the shopping center are just as close.

I also have to say something about the owner Kathy. Kathy was so very helpful with giving us advise on what to do when we first get there and other tidbits of area info. She is wonderful to deal with. We have been using VRBO for 25 years and stayed in 15 or 20 different locations and she's the best!

Great house with great location to the beach

  • 5 of 5

We rented 5 Junket for a family vacation. We had 7 adults and 4 kids. This house has plenty of room and privacy for all. We had 3 girls, ages 13 and under, who stayed in the 1st floor kids room. It was almost like their own private suite. They loved it. The 1st floor master bedroom is HUGE! Complete with walk in closet. The fact that each bedroom has it's own accompanying full bathroom was a huge plus in our book. There is also a 1/2 bath on the main level. The pool was great and the whole back outdoor setting was wonderful. There is a nice breeze that blows on the front porch a good portion of the time, perfect for reading or watching the ocean through the neighbor's peek-a-boo patio. The beach path is literally right next to the back pool area and just a short walk down to the beach/ocean. It was even easy for the great grandmother of our group to walk down to the beach with some assistance. The elevator was helpful to unload and reload the cars upon arrival/departure. We did have cell phone signal problems when we first got there so I couldn't pull up the app with the key code to get in. I should have written it down ahead of time but I messaged someone else in our group and they were able to send it to me. We did have to reset the modem when we first go there as well in order to get a connection. It's a beautiful home and property and even though the beach path goes right by the house, the trees and landscaping provide you with plenty of coverage to feel tucked away. There are a lot of leaves/twigs etc. that fall due to the foliage around the pool area so just be aware of that. It wasn't an issue for us but if you are picky about that sort of thing, it may bother you. We would highly recommend 5 Junket and hope to return again someday!!

Great house for an extended family get together

  • 5 of 5

We rented 5 Junket for a get together of our extended family of 13 people. The house worked beautifully; there was plenty of shared space for everyone to be together, and private bedroom/bath suites when people needed to retreat for quiet time. The very large, well equipped kitchen and open floor plan also allowed everyone to congregate and socialize during meal preparation without interfering with the cooking.

Since half of our group was teens or twenty-somethings, high speed internet was essential, and the wireless internet at this house supported the high level of traffic our group generated with no issues. We also selected this house partly due to the elevator, so that the eldest member of our party wouldn't have to climb stairs. While the elevator worked perfectly, it is worth noting that the elevator only provides access to one "wing" of the split second floor bedroom level. The side with a king bed bedroom and a 2 twin bed bedroom is accessible from the elevator. The side with a king bed bedroom and a queen bed bedroom is not accessible from the elevator.

Our rental was in winter, but the weather was relatively mild, and our entire family enjoyed the generous deck space, the heated hot tub, and the very short walk to the beach the house provides. All in all we had a wonderful time during our stay at 5 Junket, and would stay there again without hesitation!

Excellent house

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful stay at 5 Junket. The house has a lot of common living space and a nicely appointed kitchen. Elevator makes grocery and luggage carrying a breeze and the bedrooms are all large and private. Beach path is really nice also. We hope to return!
