About the property

Three bedroom three bath architectural home with stunning views of Puget Sound

Welcome to Chez Lumiere at Three Tree Point. This architectural gem was built to bring the exquisite beauty of the Puget Sound into every room. From the expansive deck Mount Rainier dominates the sky on one side, Vashon island lies directly ahead, and the Olympic mountains can be spotted off to the right. Just 15 minutes to downtown Seattle,10 minutes to the Port of Seattle cruise terminals, and just a 10 minute ride to Seatac airport, the beach community of Three Tree Point is the perfect way to explore Seattle while basking in the serenity of this one of a kind house.

This unique home is built in the ultra-modern style with clean lines and interesting architectural elements everywhere you look. Taking advantage of different levels, yet with an open floor plan, there is no such thing as a bad view. From the glass pyramid over the modern dining area to the 30 foot high living room windows this home will wow you the minute you walk in.

There are two separate living areas to the house. The main house consists of a large master bedroom with one wall of glass overlooking the sound, a walk in closet and a private bathroom. Adjacent on the upper level is another bedroom. In the front portion of the house, with a private entrance, is the "guest unit". This consists of two bedrooms, designer bathroom, small kitchenette and deck that connects to the dining room of the main house. There is also a door that leads into the main house by way of the kitchen. This is the perfect set up for two couples, two families or just one larger group. The house can sleep a total of 8.

Amenities include a private courtyard with mermaid fountain, two large decks with tables, chairs and a gas grill. There is a full kitchen with stove, oven, sub zero fridge, dishwasher, toaster oven, coffee maker, and microwave, as well as a kitchenette in the guest unit with a microwave, mini fridge and sink. There is a dedicated laundry room, and a total of two bathrooms with showers and a bathtub and another half bath.

There is a lovely community beach that you can walk to by way of a neighborhood trail. It is about a 10-15 minute walk with amazing views the whole way. The house is on a dead end street so is very quiet and peaceful. Just 100 yards down the street is a bird sanctuary complete with a nesting pair of bald eagles seen regularly from the house along with Northern Flickers, jays, seabirds and hummingbirds.

  • 5 of 5

This home was amazing. We had a couple days that we were able to stay at the house and just relax and watch the beautiful views from every room. The nights were perfect on the deck watching the sunset. We had so much fun this home really made our vacation perfect!

A first visit to the Pacific Northwest

  • 4 of 5

Breathtaking views and scenery! Absolutely beautiful! When on the deck, the sounds of nature are prominent! Chez Lumiere adequately sums up the "light" that enters this spacious home! The location was perfect for our stay in the Northwest: very close to the airport and a very short drive into the city to tour and connect with various other tours! Marcia, the owner, is most hospitable and is readily available for any questions or concerns! Our stay in the Pacific Northwest was truly Wonderful!

Spectacular views, poorly maintained

  • 3 of 5

We had a 4th of July stay in this house, with 5 people. Overall we had a good stay but I would like to mention the few unpleasant surprises that we really did not like, in case the owner can make use of my comments to improve the quality of service, and in case other travelers want to be aware before booking this place:

- Initially we decided this is a good place, because it had 3 bedrooms and 3 baths, which would be sufficient for all of us (2 couples and one single). Upon entrance we checked the rooms, and found out the shower in the master bedroom was broken, which was not mentioned in the original posting. So we had to share bathrooms even though we had already tried to avoid it to make best use of our time, and had trusted this posting.

- The house was poorly maintained in general. Water fountain outside is full of algae, rotten fruits and vegetables in the fridge, very old furniture, and bed sheets weren't that clean. The guest quarters didn't even have AC, we had to turn a small fan on to circulate air. These didn't go along with how the great the views and overall structure of the house was.

- The owner, Marcia, was very nice to inform us about how amazing the fireworks are from this balcony, and she was right, I personally had never seen any fireworks as beautiful as that. But the day before checkout, she requested us to wash our own sheets and towels before departure, even though we had already paid cleaning fee to her. She mentioned "each set of guests should wash their sheets and towels before leaving. It's way too big of a job for the cleaning lady". And this one was not at all nice. To stay safe, we contacted Homeaway and they assured us we don't have to do that if we're paying cleaning fee already. I told her about that, and she didn't respond anymore.

- She also charged me a damage deposit on top of the rent. But she did not immediately return my money after checkout. I had to contact her 5 days after checkout, and she says she's on her way to check the place (while the place was already booked for the day that we left) and that she will return if things are ok. Again after 3 days she doesn't pay back, which made me contact Homeaway again, and of course they took care of us immediately and made her release the money.

Overall, the quality of the rental was not as good as we expected, but it has potential to be great, given the amazing views of that lake and island across.

Beautiful Views!

  • 5 of 5

The 3 bedroom, 3 bath house has stunning views of Puget Sound and Mt. Rainier. The house is comfortable and the kitchen is outfitted to cook meals and even bbq on the side deck. Marcia was very accommodating and even ordered a blender to be delivered so we could enjoy margaritas and smoothies! Marcia was available via text or phone if we had any questions.

Burien is a great location, close to the airport, grocery store, restaurants, mall and the link (train) to downtown Seattle. We enjoyed walking along the beach during low tide, we saw seabirds, crabs, clams squirting through the sand, jellyfish and sand dollars! Perfect for a family gathering, the downstairs bedroom/guest room is set up nicely for kids and multiple couples.

Amazing View!

  • 4 of 5

This is a fun place. Very eclectic decor. Vintage 60's esque kitchen but everything works perfectly. Nice size bedrooms. Large living and dining areas. 2 full bathrooms (might have been a 3rd.....the place is quite large). But the real treasure is the deck and the view. It's gorgeous. The place is worth it just for that. You'd probably need a car to get to it. Fairly windy road but amazing area. 5min drive away to cafes, restaurants, bars, grocery stores. Cute little area. Communication with Marcia was great, very responsive. Enjoy your stay!
