Buyer beware

This was our first stay at Pointe Santo and our second visit to Sanibel. I'd like to state that I'm giving this a 2 star review because there were many negatives compared to positives on this unit D41. We decided to book this condo because of the rooftop deck. The pictures are misleading. There are no lounges. Just a few cheap plastic chairs scattered about. So much for catching some private rays in the Florida sun. Sitting upright in a chair is not how I envisioned my relaxation. There were screws sticking up and the wood was severely warped. Shoes up there were a must. There was no cover to the stairway which left the screened in patio open to elements and bugs. Therefore, we could hardly enjoy that either.

After the first day I kept seeing ants on the kitchen faucet and sink. Tried keeping it clean and wiped down. Come to find out there was a nest of ants in the faucet itself because the ice I made had frozen ants in it. So, every time I turned on the water ants would come out into whatever. I'm pretty sure I drank ants in my coffee before I realized they were there. Bleh! We bleached and placed the nozzle in boiling water and took care of the problem ourselves-you're welcome! The condo itself presented well. Not super clean. Gunk in the corners. Dirty handprints on doors and walls. Could definitely use a white glove cleaning. There were no beach towels provided. I did pay a $65 linen charge. One would think that being on the beach they might include a couple for use. No hair dryer. Aggravating to have to pack my own in a carry-on bag. Even hotels provide this basic necessity and at the cost of our six days one would think you could spend $25 to provide this for a guest. There was an umbrella and boogie boards. All broken. A couple of beach chairs were useable. Tv's were tiny.

We received no info on pointe santo itself in the room. No 'welcome' packet. We did get a packet from VIP vacations (where this booking is through) filled with before leaving rules, fees for lost keys, etc. this packet also contained junk from a realtor and their listings. Not only that but this realtor emailed me too. Thanks for sharing my email info VIP! Super classy.

The only positive was the kitchen. It was a nice size and well equipped for cooking in. Plenty of pots, pans, bowls, and utensils. So aside from the crumbs all over the back of the stove and the ants in the faucet, that is the actual highlight of this condo.

Owner's Response: We are quite concerned that our guest was not happy with his accommodations at Pointe Santo D-41. Our goal as a property manager is for all our guests to be happy campers and should they encounter a problem we are here to rectify that problem promptly and to the satisfaction of our guest. The Guest did not report any issues of any kind during their stay. Upon check out they left us a note. Had they let us know there were items the unit needed we would have delivered them immediately. Beach Chairs; umbrella’s and beach towels and hair dryers are not required items in our units as many guests walk off with them or leave them by the pool or beach. We have repaired the roof deck screws and replaced the roof deck lounge chairs. Again we are sorry this guest’s stay was not all it could have been. As a Property Management company we are here for the guest if they would just communicate any problems they are having we would be happy to try to take care of them as fast as possible. We can be contacted easily 24/7 by phone or by our App that is emailed to every guest a week before arrival. It contains a wealth on information on the Island and the complex the guest is staying at. Pointe Santo repeat vacationer

This was our 2nd time staying at Pointe Santo. Our first time in this unit. The unit was clean, nicely furnished. I liked that they had a queen and twin in the second bedroom, gives more of an opportunity for those with more than 2 children. The master bath was very spacious and beautiful and had lots of closet space. The only downside though, even though the master bedroom was very spacious with a king bed, was that the mattress of the bed was awful. It made a funny spring like noise whenever anyone (including my 90lb 12 year old) would lay down on it. And I'm not a huge person - 5'2, average weight. It felt like you were sleeping on a thin layer of something over a bunch of springs. Even though everything else in the condo was nice and comfortable, not getting restful sleep every night was a bummer. The kids said their mattresses in the guest bedroom were pretty basic to poor as well.
