Overview

About the property

Oceanfront home close to Pearson College, Marinas, beaches and parks, 3 bedrooms

Metchosin House is a spacious 3 bedroom that sleeps up to 8 people. It is an oceanfront home on a large private lot with beach access.* Quiet, sunny, and south facing, this is the perfect environment to reconnect with the people you love. Enjoy panoramic views of the Strait of Juan de Fuca. Weirs Beach right out front offers a perfect place to walk. The observation deck above the beach is a perfect private spot for morning coffee or mid-day sun. Newly renovated inside with brand new furniture, the house will be a wonderful place to which to return after a day exploring the local attractions.

The property is close to marinas (Pedder Bay, Cheanuh, and Becher Bay), parks and natural attractions too numerous to give a complete list (Devonian, and Witty’s Lagoon, Albert Head Lagoon and beach). Lester B. Pearson College of the Pacific is 2km away. Cultural attractions, such as artists’ studios, art shows at the Metchosin Community Hall, a Farmers’ market, and roadside fruit stands are available seasonally.

The Galloping Goose regional trail is an easy bike ride from the house, only 1.5 km on quiet roads. Why not ride out from Victoria or even Sydney. A car is not necessary!

*the path to the beach is not suitable for everyone as it has a steep section. There are other accessible beaches nearby.

Senior snowbirds should ask about a monthly winter season rate.

Beautiful house away from the city.

  • 5 of 5

We loved the house and quiet area. There was a lot of yard to explore and the views were gorgeous. The house was well managed and well equipped. Would definitely return.

Spectacular home on the water

  • 5 of 5

This home is a real gem. It is about 20-30 minute drive from downtown Victoria but you will appreciate the quiet, the water views, the spaciousness of the home and property, and the fine, tasteful, first class decor. The master suite has two full baths! Sitting in the breakfast nook in the morning and watching the hummingbirds at the fuschia and the other critters at the fountain below was delightful. We also saw deer that boldly meandered through the neighbor's yard. The home is on a huge lot that goes down to the water where there is an elevated deck with seating and a table for observing the water close up. There is also a deck that extends the entire second floor of the house where you can sit and see the water, the huge vegetable garden, and the pond, arbor and garden seating area below. This is truly a gorgeous home and my family of 6 enjoyed every minute (4 nights). I'd love to come again and enjoy this quiet retreat for at least a week.

Fantastic Getaway

  • 5 of 5

We rented Metchosin House for a family weekend getaway and we are still talking about it! The house is amazing, very nicely decorated and spacious but what really made this a slice of heaven were the deck(s), gardens and views. We spent most of our time outdoors watching hummingbirds, herons and deer. My grandchildren especially enjoyed the rustic deck at the end of the property by the beach and the great oak climbing tree. On Canada Day we were able to see the Victoria fireworks. There is also a golf course , Witty's beach and a great café ( My Chosen Café) minutes away. A perfect setting and would highly recommend this property. Thank you Rob !

Escape to an Oceanside Getaway

  • 5 of 5

I stayed at this home for a week and it was a cozy getaway. Even with the provided cable television I found myself out in the backyard all day. Beautiful scenery in every direction. Highly recommend, 10/10.
