You will see first hand the fine detail that went into our home with no expense spared. Every area of our home has a story from another time period as we have worked hard to salvage old details. We have revived an old hutch from the late 1800's, repurposed wood to make a butcher block island, colonial fireplace mantle from the late 1800's, original subway tile from early 1900's from this home, even antique doors made into wainscoting. The list goes on and on about the fun stories that this house could tell. It took a year and a half to renovate this as our dream home and we would love to share it with you.

Gorgeous renovated home perfect for young families!
We loved spending Christmas week at Kristy and Paul's home. The house is just as gorgeous as what you see in the photos and was beautifully decorated for the holidays. Kristy has impeccable taste and it felt like we were staying in a house renovated by Chip and Joanna Gaines, only better. Even though this is their full time home, they took extra steps to make it feel like a vacation home for us. For instance, they cleaned out the shower and bathroom vanity and left out hotel toiletries for us to use. They also cleaned out two closets in the master and a cabinet in the kitchen. They even cleaned out the ice tray so we would have fresh ice. When I informed Kristy that the ice maker wasn't making much ice, she had ice delivered to our front door within minutes without us asking. That is service!
KID FRIENDLY (minus no baby gates): Kristy's kids are just around the same age as my kids. My son loved the little boy's room and the nursery was perfect for my daughter. They have toys, games and books so no need to bring your own. They also provided a high chair and baby monitor. At the time of our stay they did not have baby gates for the stairs. Our daughter is a toddler that loves to climb up stairs but doesn't know how to go down them yet. Therefore, we used a box to block our daughter from going up the stairs, and upstairs we always kept the door closed in her room. Since their daughter will soon be a walker maybe they will get baby gates.
THE NEIGHBORHOOD is great with lots of young families. Acme grocery store is just a couple of blocks and there is a playground a block away as well. We enjoyed trying some of the local gems included Essen Bakery and Laurel (not kid friendly but we had a relative babysit). We also enjoyed using UberEats and Caviar to deliver food from some of the best restaurants in Philly.
PARKING: Free parking means free street parking. Most of the time we found street parking close to the house, a couple of times we had to park a block or two away. Kristy did reserve a parking space for us the night we arrived, which was much appreciated. Even though we got in late, she met us at the house along with her two children and gave us a tour.
One thing I didn't realize is that there is no washer/dryer available to renters. This wasn't an issue as I packed enough for the week. If you do need to wash clothes there is a laundromat around the corner.
We had a fabulous stay and would love to return someday!
Great Home away from Home!
I took the family to Philly for a week of brotherly love and had just a great time. Kristy and Paul were just amazing host, they meet us at the door and gave us a great tour of their home providing us with a good break down of the area. Plenty of good restaurants close by and all in good walking distance... the parking is a little tricky but Kristy gives you plenty of advice on places to find parking so really not a worry there. The location is also great for Penn's Landing and any of the downtown sites, very short drive.
Thank you Kristy, Paul and Truett for welcoming us, if you ever visit the Chattanooga, TN area please look us up, would love to show you around town.
Beautiful house with a great, nice host!
This was a beautiful house to stay in with some neat add-ons such as the filtered water, the French press coffee option and a beautiful back patio. I would definitely recommend it for folks. The decor is very unique and inviting. You feel like you are in a vacation home somewhere outside of a city. The neighborhood is neat and very near the SEPTA and other cool neighborhoods. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to stay in Philly.
Awesome Design, Premium Finishes, Great Location and Wonderful Stay
My wife, son and I stayed at this home because the pictures were just so cool looking. If you are someone who has an eye for design and enjoys staying somewhere hip and well appointed, this is the place for you. Paul the owner/designer renovated the entire property himself and did an outstanding design. He is a local interior designer/builder and the property is flawlessly designed. From the gourmet kitchen with accordion doors opening to the back patio to the french doors leading to the front balcony, we enjoyed every part. Great neighborhood and a quiet street. Just minutes to walk to some of the best restaurants in all of Philadelphia. A park, half a block away for our son too. Kristy and Paul were great hosts and really make you feel welcomed. Great communication too. Everything went as planned. You want for nothing here and we will return for our next visit to Philly.
Just as described. Lovely Stay
We stayed in this beautiful home for a week and felt so at home here. The location was close to coffee shops, restaurants and a lively park. Easy to get around and see all that we wanted to see in the City but also a very neighborhood feel which we like. We felt like locals and that is exactly what we were looking for. The home was perfect in every way. The kitchen made it fun to cook when we weren't eating out. The backyard was cosy and perfect for our family to sit in the evenings with a glass of wine. The attention to detail in this home stood out and really put our experience over the top. Kristi and Paul were kind and met us upon arrival to show us around and answer all our questions. They made us feel at home. We want to move in but we will settle with coming to visit again instead. If you are looking for a higher end feel with all the details and amenities, this is the home for you. We wouldn't change anything about our trip. You can't go wrong here.
We will come back
My husband and I stayed in this beautiful home for a valentines getaway. We were pleasantly surprised that the home looks exactly as it did in the pictures.
We were greeted by the owners Kristy and Paul who showed us around the house and told us all about the great local places to eat and nearby East Passyunk Square which was full of restaurants and little shops.
The house was clean and every decoration was nicely thought out and placed. I felt like I was sleeping in one of those magazine homes, definitely not a hotel. We had a great stay here. It was nice to use the backyard and grill the day it was beautiful weather. The doors opened up into the backyard and we were able to enjoy coffee outside and relax in the garden.
The bed was much more comfortable than my own, we slept great and felt like we were pampered the whole time.
Overall, we had such a great stay that we will be back for our next stay in Philadelphia.
