About Joe McDonough
Our family lives in the San Francisco Bay Area in Belmont, CA. Our kids learned to ski at the Mt. Shasta Ski Park. They especially enjoy the little shops in "downtown" McCloud including the White Mountain Cafe and the Candy Store in the Mercantile building.
Joe McDonough purchased this House in 1998

A little house in the Mc “clouds”
This house is as pictured. We loved the location and hope to be back.
wonderful place to gather
This was the 2nd time my wife and I stayed at the home and it was as wonderful as we remembered it 2 years ago. The open flooring, outside deck, and front yard was great for out little one to run around. I appreciated how the windows were insulated well and two of the rooms had sliding glass doors to access outside easily. The kitchen was stocked with all the supplies we needed and the bbq was useful. Clean and spacious. We will def come back for a 3rd visit.
Thank you for this very kind review. Our family is very fond of our Shasta Pines home, and we are happy that you enjoy it too. It takes a team of people to keep a good thing going, and our caretaker team in McCloud is the best! They work hard to give every guest a great experience.
Another great stay!
Always such a relaxing trip when we stay at Shasta Pines. Close to everything but who needs to go anywhere when you have a hammock between the pines!
2nd week of April in McCloud
The house was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed. It was very private and we enjoyed sitting on the front porch mornings and evenings relaxing with a cup of coffee and listening to nature all around us. The town of McCloud is very friendly and has some excellent food at resonable prices. We saw the caverns at Shasta Lake, the falls at McCloud and Macarthur-Burney Falls, and the McCloud Reservoir and Dam. Some of the roads were closed due to snow or rock slides but there were plenty of other trails to be hiked. We went Monday thru Thursday and found out many of the local places are closed Monday and Tuesday so the next time we'll go Wednesday thru Saturday. We weren't familiar with Roku media streaming but we didn't really go there to watch TV. We would definitely stay here again.
