Our home was elegantly remodeled in 2012 with gourmet kitchen, advanced climate control system, water purification and central vacuum system. The 3 bedroom home is at the entry of Campanero across from the Teatro Cervantes, in the center of Guanajuato. Its location does not require climbing any steep streets to reach our house. It is minutes walking time to the Jardine Union, Plaza La Paz or Plaza Embarjadoras. Restaurants, grocery stores, bakeries and a café which roasts its own coffee are a minute away.
The bedroom on the main floor has an on suite full bathroom and a walk-in closet. The half bath is perfect for guests. There is another full bath on the second floor that also has two bedrooms with ample closet space. The bedrooms are perfect if you have a lot of children as the beds have another rollout bed underneath.
The terrace is large and the solarium is a very nice place to lounge during inclement weather.
Heating and air conditioning throughout the house can provide a welcome relief after a day enjoying the sights of Guanajuato. It can be a bit chilly in December and January while hot from May to August.
There is a water purification system in the house. It also has a built in vacuum system for easy cleanups, or if you have allergies, all the dust is exhausted to the outside so the house is relatively dust free. There is also a clothes washer and dryer. There are several hot water heaters and lack of hot water is never an issue, no matter how many people are in the house.
If you like to cook, the fully equipped kitchen includes a coffee maker, dishwasher, microwave oven, toaster oven, gas stove, two garbage disposal units in the sinks, blender, toaster and many other appliances. We can arrange for a chef to provide Mexican cooking classes in the house, if you wish.
We love our house because of the amenities and its location. Wi-Fi and four flat screen satellite televisions are included with the rental.
We are a Canadian/Mexican couple.. We divide our time between Canada, US and Mexico. My wife is a long time Guanajuato resident and owns a hotel (Casa Mexicana) and a Spanish language school (Escuela Mexicana). We love our house and living in Guanajuato.
Darrell Myroniuk purchased this house in 2012
We bought this house because we like to live in the city center and walk to everything. Guanajuato is a unique place in Mexico. It is very old - founded in 1571 - and has a lively cultural and night life. There is always something to do.
I remolded the house to N. American standards and my wife decorated the house in Mexican style. An interesting mix.
We love food and that explains the expansive kitchen.
Unlike most homes here, you do not have to walk up steep streets to reach your house.
There can be very cold nights during Nov - Feb. The house has heating - rare in Mexico.
Actually it would delight anyone seeking all the creature comforts in a superb location.
It overlooks the busy, central Plaza Allende, home of el Teatro Cervantes. It is at the origin of the pedestrianized streets which make Guanajuato such a joy to visit (my favorite Mexican city: something is always happening in the center).
The photos don't do the house justice. And if you happen to be a chef (cook): PARADISE!
James, the manager, was attentive throughout the process and actually met us though we were early.
Located in the city center with easy access to the major attractions. Across the street is Juarez theater and Plaza Allende with lots of activities such as a beer festival or Middle Ages Festival throughout the year. We love going to the Jardin Union where there are many restaurants and bars, to listen to the Mariachis and Estudiente Singing Tours of the city's walking streets. One can also go to Jardin Embajadoras to visit the market and order Guanajuato's famous Gortidas (little fat ones), stuffed tortillas and very tasty. All the city's museums are close by or easy walking distance. Guanajuato's traffic free streets provide a pleasurable experience exploring its sights and ways. Guanajuato was founded in 1571 and history is very much alive here.
