Secluded and relaxing

  • 5 of 5

John, Rhonda and Jack were super helpful by email, phone and in person and all the other staff members we crossed paths with were very nice. They made themselves available for any needs we might have. We went as a family with our 5 year old and 2 year old. The house is located at the very end of Seabrook Island inside the camp and conference center. It is a short walk over the dune to the beach. There are very few people that come all the way to this end of the beach and those that do are usually just walking by so you really have it all to yourself. There are no big waves because it is located where the river meets the ocean sort of like an inlet. We were graced by the presence of pelicans swimming and fishing near us, fish, turtles, crabs and other wildlife. We got to watch the Turtle Patrol help the little sea turtles out of their nest and on a path towards the ocean while learning about the sea turtles from one of the volunteers. Our kids are not quite old enough but the conference center rents out kayaks, paddle boats, etc and has a dock on property. Restaurants on Seabrook, Kiawah and John's Island are all easily accessible and there are several that we enjoyed for lunch. We cooked dinner and at at the house every night. The screened in porch and swing are great and allow for a calm place to enjoy the view and unwind. The lawn in front of the house before the dune is great for playing (frisbee, soccer, etc) or just to let the kids run around and burn off energy. The house has Internet, TV, all the basic spices, coffee, dish detergent, towels, sheets - basically you just need to bring your clothes, beach towels, beach chairs and toys. We loved our stay and will probably book again next year!!!

A peaceful place to reconnect

  • 5 of 5

This is the perfect setting for those seeking some downtime. The surroundings just beg to be experienced with every sense. Dolphins feeding at sunset, the gentle lapping of the Edisto at low tide, the millions of hermit crabs, birds rising from or retreating their roosts. The home sleeps 6 but is probably most comfortable with 2-4, if you enjoy meals/games around the same table or resting in comfy furniture in the evenings. Being a part of Camp St. Christopher, there was a higher than normal attention to trash pick up and fresh linen delivery. The home is precisely as shown in the photos- comfortable, quaint, cozy - and clean. Can't wait to return.

Wonderful family vacation!

  • 5 of 5

This was the perfect cottage with an absolutely perfect location! It was quiet and away from it all, with absolutely amazing views and beach access. I'm so glad I came across this property and hope we will be able to visit again in the future. Our children kept saying, "you did good mom". I would definitely recommend this cottage, but hate to because don't want the secret to get out! Wonderful experience!

Delightful cottage on secluded beach

  • 5 of 5

Four of us stayed over July 4th holiday week. What a wonderful visit! We couldn't have been happier. The cottage was clean, very comfortable beds, had all the amenities we needed in the kitchen to cook and prepare meals. A short and easy walk to the very secluded beach. Wow, July 4th and I think I counted 10 people on the mile long beach. What a joy! We swam with the dolphins, watched the birds and breathed in the glorious beach air. We will definitely be back.

Wonderful, Humble Little Cottage by the Sea - will be back

  • 5 of 5

Hard to find any negatives about our stay, highlights are location which is very quiet and peaceful yet by car (essential) only a 15 minute drive from Restaurants, Shops etc, Ideal Beach for young family's as it's protected from the Ocean waves by nearby Islands so great for swimming, grilling, relaxing, Rustic and Comfy Cottage is well appointed with the essentials and has a lovely balcony, if you are after peace and simplicity then this is an ideal place. Owners Pictures say it all.
