A newly renovated 1 bedroom apartment type loft, with your private balcony and lounge area and a 360° view of the Caribbean ocean and the mountain tops of Grand case.
Great functionnal kitchen with 2 ceramic burners, oven, microwave, fridge and nespresso expresso coffe machine.
A spacious vaulted ceiling living room framed with large-opening glass sliding door to private terrace.(Flat screen tv with American and French channels, free wifi,...).
Down the hall you find a private water closet with funky wallpaper on your way to the master suite with a comfortable queen bed, built-in generous cabinet. Rain shower Spa like bath with spacious custom countertop and designer sink with ocean and mountain tops views.
The listing and photos were a perfect match. Super clean, exactly as shown. Sunny, bright, overlooking a beautiful beach - we think the best in St Martin! Chaise lounge chairs on the beach with umbrellas available.
The apartment itself has a clean and contemporary look - just as shown in the photos.
The deck overlooks the beach and beyond. Table for 6 with cushioned lounge (gets a bit wet because it is exposed to the rain so you will need a towel). Living room with comfy sofa. Excellent internet and cable TV.
Bedroom had an open wall unit for storage and a very comfortable bed. The open bathroom sink and shower area was extremely accommodating and efficient. Loved the rainfall shower head. The toilet is in a separate room with fun wallpaper.
The kitchen was very clean and efficient. We like to cook and found enough plates, utensils, cookware, oven, stove, toaster. Small, but efficient, refrigerator with a tiny freezer section (good for ice cubes) There are 3 bodegas within a block of the apartment, with surprisingly good local produce and essentials. There is a fabulous boulangerie (bakery) around the corner with excellent breads (try the walnut wheat bread), pastries, mini quiches perfect for lunch, and other goodies. Larger supermarket down the road toward Anse Marce but you would need a car.
There is a place down the road that will wash'n'fold your laundry (takes 1 - 2 days).
We were able to park our rental car in front of the building everyday (with strategic use of the traffic cones whenever we left).
SIDE NOTE: We also stopped at Carrefore supermarket on the Dutch side - WARNING: the prices for the exact same items we found in the local bodegas were 2 - 3 TIMES HIGHER AT Carrefore supermarket!!!
The building has several units that are in the midst of renovations. No activity while we were there and doesn't look like anything happening any time soon. This did not detract from the experience overall.
Yes, the Rainbow restaurant next door does play loud music at night occasionally (Monday for sure), but we knew that in advance so it did not detract from an overall excellent experience. They will serve you food and/or drinks on the beach. The folks that work there are very friendly - we had locked ourselves out one day with only our bathing suits on and nothing else. They immediately contacted Laurent, the apartment owner, who came right over to let us in. Laurent responded quickly to all our inquiries and was very friendly and a great host.
We love Grand Case but do not recommend this property to anyone. It is located next door (within a yard) to an open air club/restaurant/bar with music 10 am to after 10 pm daily except Mondays when there is a dance party at full volume until at least 2 am. Even ear plugs don't drown out the thumping bass of the music. If your idea of romance (“Romantic Loft”) includes relentless pounding music, you will like the unit. For us, we were badly in need of a break and wanted a restful place where we could enjoy the sounds of the waves at night. Outside on the beach the music is not so intrusive; however inside the unit, particularly in the bedroom, there is continuous pounding from the music. The bedroom is situated on a busy street close to an intersection with vehicle and motorcycle traffic noise throughout the night.
We booked two weeks in November 2016. When we complained about the noise, the owner came to the property to discuss the issue. We were asked to text him when the music was too loud so he could talk to the club owner or call the police. The owner asked my husband what decibel level was too loud. Unfortunately we had forgotten to pack our decibel meter reader. The owner emailed I had made false accusations about the noise, stating he had been in the area (but did not come inside the unit where the thumping is loud).
We stuck through the first week & asked the owner if we could be released the second week due to the noise. The owner refused so we spent a good part of the second week staying elsewhere. We returned from a 2-night stay on a neighboring island at 6 PM to pounding music from the club next door – this went on until 11 pm. We left the next morning and checked into a quiet resort for our final two nights. Upon returning to the unit on the last day of our reservation for the damage deposit inspection, we found pillows on the sofa and bed were re-arranged. Housekeeping had been to the unit the prior weekend and the owner said he did not know who had been in the unit recently. Extremely disturbing someone had been in the unit in our absence without our permission. We were in the unit for the inspection no more than 15-20 minutes; car parked right at the front door of the apartment building where we said hello to the on-site property manager. The final touch was the car was keyed sometime during those final 15-20 minutes parked in front of the building.
This was a stressful and unpleasant vacation. We do not recommend it.
This is the best choice We could have made without seeing the apartment in person.
It looks exactly like the photos. The decor is just what you would want in St. Martin. Bright colors, clean whites, airy and relaxing.
Laurent is an amiable host who would help with anything you needed.
The location is perfect for walking to the grocery store, bakery and any restaurant in Grand Case. The local bus is a few steps up the street if you want to venture to Marigot, Phillipsburg,French Quarter or any place else without your own car.
If you have a car, there is parking.
A lovely beach is right out the door. How perfect. If you need to buy a drink or lunch there are restaurants adjacent that serve on the beach.
Paddle boarding was wonderful and right next door also along with kayak and canoe rentals.
The perfect vacation. Save us a week for next year. We will be back.
Thank you Laurent for a beautiful vacation.

Do not stay here unless you want to have your ear drums burst by pounding loud music from the club next door till 1:30 in the morning. Worst vacation ever.
My husband and I just returned from a wonderful week in Grand Case and staying at Rose Bonbon was a huge part of the success of our holiday. This is one of those rare VRBO rentals where the photos, albeit lovely, do not do the space justice- it was spectacular. Muriel, who we sadly did not meet, did a superb job of designing and furnishing the condo.
Laurent met us at Rose Bonbon and gave us a thorough explanation of AC, TV, internet access instructions etc. and showed us a short cut to the bakery and grocery store. He was warm and gracious- a delightful host.
As there is an abundance of restaurants in the area at every price point, we did not prepare any real meals there but it was great to be able to prep breakfasts, lunches and snacks. Even the plates co-ordinated with the furnishings!
We rented a car which allowed us to explore the island though we spent most of our time on the French side. The beach right outside the door was the best, in our opinion.
I cannot recommend Rose Bonbon highly enough- we will be back.
My wife and I highly recommend. The condo is very attractive and efficient. The real treat is the balcony which allows a terrific view of the Grand Case beach and surrounding area. We travelled with another couple who stayed at a nearby apartment and they were so happy to spend most of their time on our deck and using our kitchen. Several of us has pressing work responsibilities and the wifi was very steady even out to the beach. We told the host, Laurent, that we will most likely return. Bob & Pam
