My family has been coming to Mt Gretna for years to enjoy all it has to offer. My father and his family are from the Hershey area and tell wonderful stories of the "old days" in Mt Gretna
Pat Wilmsen purchased this cottage in 2015
It has so much potential but was so neglected. We knew it had good bones and loved the porch, so we took on the project to remodel it and give it's charm back. It was a huge project but one we took on with gusto and love.
We loved it! Such a charming community and the house was perfect! Had everything we needed. We will be back!
The house was super clean on arrival. The decoration was very charming and everything worked very well (stove, dish washer, sink, kitchen items, everything in the bathroom, TV, etc). The height of the ceiling wasn't an issue for me but anybody over 5'0" will have to make sure to duck while walking down the steps. The bedrooms were very comfortable to accommodate all 6 of us. I LOVED having items for our 18 month old available. The area is beautiful and it really makes you just want to wander around to explore nature and the neighborhood. The owner answers VERY quickly and can accommodate some requests which is AWESOME. Will be definitely renting again in the future :)
I was really shocked the house was even cuter than the pictures. The inside is storybook theme, very cute and a lot of time and effort has been put into this house to make it comfortable for the guests. We loved and stay and we were all disappointed when it was time to leave.
My family stayed in the Storybook Cottage two weeks ago for our weekend trip to Hershey. We have a 4 year old and a 5 month old. To say that the cabin is well-stocked for families would be an understatement. It had absolutely everything we needed: immaculate pack n play, booster seat, baby gates, plastic cups and plates, etc. The kitchen had everything you could possibly think of: all pots and pans, utensils, even staples like coffee, flour, sugar, and olive oil. The interior was supremely clean and very comfortable. The cabin had all upgrades, yet was rustic enough to be truly unique and fun. Staying in the Campmeeting with a family was wonderful. We could go on rural walks, oogle the other cottages, relax on the porch, and the playground on 3rd street was spectacular.
We would absolutely recommend the Storybook Cottage to other travelers, young couples, older couples, and certainly families. I look forward to staying there again!
Very clean and comfortable. Very well equipped kitchen
This is the perfect little cottage for a mount gretna get away. Stayed only two nights but looking forward to returning in August.
