About Vacasa of Oregon Coast

Thanks for considering a Vacasa home! We provide full-service management for privately owned vacation homes, and like to think that we offer our guests the best of both worlds: the unique experience of staying in a one-of-a-kind vacation home, with the peace of mind that comes from knowing that the home you book for your special vacation is cared for by professional housekeepers and property managers.

Vacasa began in 2009, simply because our founder and CEO Eric wanted to find a better way to share his wife’s family’s summer home in Long Beach, Washington with guests as a vacation rental. Eric and his early team worked to build Vacasa on the premise that local employees can do what they love most (taking care of guests, homeowners, and properties), while the hands-off tasks of vacation rental management—things like marketing, filing taxes, and maintaining a website—could be handled by a specialized central support team.

Our passion is connecting travelers with the unique experience of staying in a vacation home, and we would be honored to be your host. Please contact us with any questions about this home—our team is standing by!

We had a good stay with our whole family. We had plenty of room, plenty of amazing views and it was an easy walk to the beach.

Needs TLC

 • 3 of 5

This house needs a lot of TLC. Considering how much I paid to rent this home and how the home was advertised, I expected it to be on-point. It was not.

I provided this feedback to the Vacasa property manager and never heard back.

On the top floor:
1. The kitchen faucet was broken. The aerated stream didn’t work. Only the power rinse worked so water is splashed everywhere when trying to do anything in the sink. We were constantly wiping up water on the countertops.
2. The handle to the freezer was loose and fell off.
3. The window coverings were dirty and stained and ripped in places.
4. The covering for one of the electrical plug-ins near the pool table was broken and not secured.
5. The plumbing on the bathroom toilet needed work. It didn't flush with enough water so a second flush was often required, no matter what was being flushed. It would then take a long time for it to fill up with water for us to be able to flush again. At one point, I had to reattach the chain so it would flush at all.
6. The door to the deck on the south side of the house would get stuck and was terribly difficult to open.
7. The bar stools were old, worn, wobbly and their cushions were being held together by black duct tape.
8. Lastly, on the main floor, was the couch. The couch was disintegrating and needed replaced. The cushions were gone in places and the only way to get comfortable, and stable, was to strategically place accent pillows in the voids. Considering it was the main place for guests to sit and enjoy the view, I expected better.

On the middle floor:
1. There were no batteries in the smoke detectors in the two extra bedrooms.
2. What looked like water and debris from the kitchen sink was back-flowing into the master bathtub.
3. Upon my arrival, the master bedroom smelled like urine. I'm guessing that is because most people use that entrance when coming back in from using the hot tub. I don't know what or if anything can be done about this but the odor was heavy.

On the bottom floor:
1. The garage was advertised as a 4-car garage. It was also stated in the confirmation emails I received that 4 cars could be parked in the garage but that is inaccurate. Only ONE vehicle can fit in the garage. Also, the ad and the emails I received prior to my arrival stated that parking was limited to a maximum of 5 vehicles on the property but there is plenty of parking at this house. More than 5 vehicles can easily park there. (I understand the owners may want only 5 vehicles parked there but upon arrival, this limit was questioned by my guests. They were upset because they had to carpool to ensure no more than 5 vehicles were parked on the property and it was difficult to get everyone and their belongings into a few cars.)
2. The water heater was terribly loud. It ran anytime water was on in the house, hot or cold. Those sleeping in the studio were awoken every time water was turned on in the middle of the night.
3. We had the same issue with the studio bathroom toilet as the top floor toilet. It didn't flush with enough water so a second flush was often required, no matter what was being flushed. It would then take a long time for the water to fill up for us to be able to flush again.
4. Mouse droppings were discovered in the studio.
5. There were three broken window coverings that I reported on the second day of my 7-day visit. The manager offered to have someone come to “take a look” at them but I didn't hear back from him and no one ever showed up.
6. The fireplace didn't work.
7. The carpet had two large stains that needed a deep clean.
8. And lastly, if this is going to be advertised as a 4-bedroom then the bed needs to be suitable for sleeping. The hide-a-bed was terrible. The mattress was flat and you could feel the s...

Good location, nice upper floor

 • 3 of 5

This place is okay. Maybe I’ve been pampered by previous beach houses, but this place seemed a little bare bones and needs some care.

The upstairs French doors onto the decks are both sticky, the one to the south is VERY hard to open. The main TV has to change channels with one remote, volume with another? The couch is terrible and should be replaced. The bar-chairs are ripped and repaired w/ black duct tape. Upstairs toilet fille VERY slow, nowhere to hang a towel either.

Bedrooms are okay, all but the master suite are all pretty small. Closet doors can’t open all the way, the mattresses all seem pretty worn out. There were no blankets available but the management DID bring by 4. Master jetted tub is missing a lot of caulking around the front. The fireplace in the studio didn’t work.

A hairdryer would have been great! There were towels, but we had to go on a hunt to find them.

I would have liked a few more basic spices and such for cooking, but Safeway is close so we bought what we needed.

Mid May at the beach

 • 5 of 5

The house was very beautiful and had lots of space. The remote situation was confusing so I fixed that and programmed the Charter remotes to run the T.V. and the cable. The list of supplies was a bit off but we did find a large pan to cook in. GREAT, GREAT, GREAT , views from every window that faced the ocean even from the hot tub. my family and friends would stay again. location was great, up high enough to whale watch which we did plenty of times.
