Come stay in the cozy and comfortable 525 square foot accessory unit attached to our architecturally distinct house in a quiet, established, Leucadia neighborhood west of I-5. The house was built in the early sixties in an avocado grove. We remodeled it in the mid 2000s, using green building technologies, materials, and techniques. Our beautiful solar powered home, La Casita Dulce, is centered on a large corner lot. These days it is surrounded primarily by California native landscaping. A beautiful old California Sycamore anchors the corner and shades the entrance to the property.
When we remodeled, we created the private one bedroom one bath accessory unit that is the subject of this listing for a short term rental. The place is designed for the comfort of one or two people.
The entire indoor space is well lit by both natural and artificial light. There are two ceiling fans and good cross ventilation for cool breezes when it is hot. There is not air conditioning.
The bedroom engenders a sense of tranquility. From the paint scheme and the new high-end firm queen mattress with box springs to the sliding glass door which makes up the south wall of the room providing access to the rear deck, the bedroom is all about relaxing. The bright Solatube-equipped bathroom has a color-through porcelain tile floor, a single sink, toilet, and large tiled shower.
The well-equipped kitchen includes a Viking electric oven and microwave, a Wolf gas cook top and exhaust fan, a SubZero fridge, and a Fisher&Paykel dish washer drawer. There are plenty of small appliances and kitchen utensils to be found in the convenient cupboards, drawers, and on the ample counter.
The indoor eating area is the back side of the kitchen island counter. The seating at the counter is two adjustable-height stools.
The living room is an extension of the kitchen. It is furnished with a love seat with ottoman, two chairs, a 37" LED TV, and a stereo FM receiver.
