Looking for a cozy Door County cottage? Keep looking!
Beware! Stayed here the last weekend of October. Hard to find the property entrance; challenging to locate the cottage along the winding, largely unmarked/unpaved drive (in the woods). Upon entering the freezing-cold cottage, we were greeted by a strong mildew-mold odor. Thought it would improve when we turned-up the heat; then realized THERE WAS NO HEAT. NOT mentioned in the listing. On the 2nd floor, one small space heater in 1 of the 3 bedrooms; small portable oil heater in the hallway. First floor had one baseboard heater, which did little. The advertised "fireplace" was a wood-burning stove with a "Don't Use" sign on top. We were only able to get 2 of 3 bedrooms warm enough to sleep in. The rest of the time, had to keep our winter coats on. Tried to use the space heater downstairs, but that tripped the circuit breaker. The tiny bathrooms were in need of cleaning--not sure when the shower stall had last been cleaned--apparently not this year. We've stayed in a number of places in Door County over the years; never experienced anything like this.
Misleading-property was not on water-beds were awful-the water stunk! Couldn't even shower, definitely wouldn't drink it. Steps were so steep, overall we would never recommend this place or stay here again
