Adorable bungalow, just steps to the largest pool in the area and just 1 1/2 miles to Seaside. Except for a few upcycled vintage items, it's all only a year old, including mattresses and bedding. 5 minute walk to the beach, and a scenic, fishable lake right out back. Very family friendly area with miles of bike paths. Two bikes are provided, along with a beach cart, chairs and umbrella. Kitchen has all newer small appliances, including a blender and crock pot. Gas grill also provided. Queen size bed in the master bedroom and two twins in the guest room. Each bedroom has it's own attached, private bathroom. Comfortable queen sleeper sofa in the living room. 1/2 bath downstairs. There are several dining and shopping options nearby; several within walking distance. Walk to the beach to see the beautiful sunset, then come back and relax in the hot tub! Pool area has all just been resurfaced. Another small pool also available in the complex. Everything you need is right here!
Hello! I'm glad you're checking out our Bungalow. We'd love to have you visit. We came to the 30A area in the fall of 2015 for the first time, and fell in love with the white sand beaches, gorgeous blue waters and miles of bike paths. We also loved how friendly everyone is, and all the families spanning the generations and enjoying the area together. After checking out multiple condos, and not particularly liking the sound of footsteps above us and voices through the walls, we stumbled on the bungalows and felt like we had "found us a home". We both work long hours at fulltime jobs; my husband running grain elevators; and I'm a paramedic on a countywide 911 service. We decided long ago that we would follow the advice of a beloved aunt which was to "work hard to play hard". Our little bungalow is the result of countless hours of hard work, and a place where we and our adult children and their families can kick back and unwind. My husband grew up on the prairies of South Dakota and that area has a very special place in both of our hearts, thus "Little House on the Gulf".
Linda and Milan Hansen purchased this bungalow in 2015
Why this property? We loved the roominess compared to condos that we had looked at. We loved the friendliness and blend of fulltime residents and vacationing families. We love that we can hop on a bicycle and go to dinner or a concert in Seaside or grab some ice cream.
The view from the dining area is gorgeous and peaceful, looking out over the little lake. The upstairs porch overlooks the pool. The easy access to the pool and hot tub are a bonus. And that gorgeous beach is just down the street.
We had a very nice time at The Bungalows for our family Thanksgiving. The pool was beautiful but we didn't use it as it was too cold. The hot tub worked well for us. We also enjoyed access to the bikes. The walk to the beach was okay -about 5-ish minutes. My two comments are that the master bathtub doesn't drain effectively and there could have been a few more pots/pans but remember, I was trying to cook a T-giving meal!!! :-)
I have to start by saying that Linda (and Milan) was the easiest person I have ever rented from in my 6 years of traveling to this area. She was accommodating and available every step of the way. Her responses from the beginning of the process were immediate, which played a huge factor on deciding to rent her bungalow. Now onto the bungalow itself......
It was the perfect size for myself and two teen girls (15 &16) wanting to milk the last of the historic lingering summer temps. The layout is fabulous with both rooms upstairs and tv room downstairs. A tv with all "the good" cable channels in each room (got to watch my Hallmark Christmas movies!). My teens loved the Netflix provided. What I love is that there is no wasted space here......no formal dining room (who really uses those on vacay anyway?:). While the unit is about 1100 sq ft, it doesn't feel tight at all.
My teens loved the bikes to explore the area. Usually rentals have junky bikes, but these are top-of-the-line. There were 4 extra beach towels provided and plenty of toilet paper (which I usually have to bring extra for other rentals). The kitchen was well stocked and there was even some detergent provided in case you run out or forgot yours. The beds were super comfortable and the entire unit was very clean.
There are bike/walk trails galore in this area! Since it gets dark at 5p these days, we ventured to the outlets and to Destin Commons at night to shop and catch a movie in the evenings.
The location was superb! You are literally a few feet from the huge pool and hot tub, which closes at 10p. People living/staying in The Bungalows I found to be respectful and quiet, so there is no disturbance being so close. The ocean is a straight 4-5 minute walk down the road. No thinking or guessing required.
FYI on eats: We enjoyed Bruno's(garlic knots are a MUST), Another Broken Egg and Jin-Jin's Chinese. The Donut Hut and Tom Thumb are just a short stroll away by beach entrance. And some unique local restaurants/eateries are a very close also.
Everything was as advertised. Great accommodations and perfect location that made for a great fall break.
The Bungalows is an adorable community located just a short walk to the beautiful beaches of Seagrove/Seaside. Our unit was nicely decorated and comfy. It contained every possible item we needed. We didn't have to bother with expensive bike rentals (bikes were provided) and we didn't have to travel with our bulky beach tents/umbrellas/chairs. All was provided. Our bungalow was right next to the pool which made escaping out the door for a quick dip or late evening hot tub soak easy and stress-free.
We just love this 30A location and the bungalows were just perfect for our group of 5. Looking forward to more visits.
My family and I have stayed here twice now. We absolutely love this place. I cannot say enough about the owners of this beautiful bungalow. Location is perfect. Just off the beaten path, but within a short bike ride away from everything. The pool is huge and the hot tub is one of the biggest ive seen. The house is everthing you need amd more.
Good location with a pool and close to the beach. Lots of extras in the house- beach buggy, beach toys, games books etc. Linda was very helpful before our visit answering our questions.
