We enjoyed our stay very much. 23 people stayed in this home comfortably. 14 were grandchildren, 13 and under. Had plenty of toys and activities for all. House was adequately supplied with all kinds of supplies. Water heater stopped working and Jim had it fixed within an hour. Jim and Lynette were very kind. Would go back.
This property perfectly accommodated our girls weekend to celebrate our friend getting married this summer. Plenty of room and Lynette was very responsive!
South Haven visit
Everything went well and property was great except we couldn’t get the TVs to work.
My husband and I would like to offer you and your friends any weekend next year during September and October, Labor Day weekend not included, at half price, because the televisions weren’t working during your visit this year. Just fill in the calendar for next year and I’ll handle the half price thing through HomeAway 😃
Jim and Lynette
Beautiful House. Even more beautiful owners. Every small details were thought of. Air fresheners in bathrooms, aluminum foil in kitchen, drinking water, firewood.....every small detail.
Plus it really helps to have a Walmart right there. We had to get a birthday cake and it is 3 MINUTES drive.
Overall, we felt the warmth of the house and its owners :), had a fantabulous stay and hope to come back.
Very gracious family. Beautiful through and through!
We wish all our guests treated our home with as much respect.
We would love for your family to visit our home as often as you like😃
Fantastic Family Vacation
A wonderful property for a large family gathering.
South Haven is the quintessential Beach Town! Gorgeous sandy beaches, dozens of delicious restaurants for all tastes, unique shops...Here's a list of some of the most popular weekends
South Haven Fireworks ... July 3rd
National Blueberry Festival ... August 8-12
All Crafts Fair ... August 31 and Sept. 1
Our little town has a lot to offer everyone! My husband and I have been frequenting our favorite restaurant since it opened: Clementines!! You can't visit South Haven without trying one meal there! Because it is so famous, early on we realized this small trick: Since you can't make phone reservations, we used to send one of our children down on their bike and put our name in! They tell you about how long the wait will be and then we'd be sure to get there by that time! Well the children grew up so here's another trick we developed! Put your name in and walk to the end of the pier and back. That usually gets us in right about time! And if you still have time, shop!! My personal favorite shopping stores: Shooting Star, Nature's Country Cupboard and Renaissance! All on Phoenix Street.
About Lynette Thornton
Born and raised in South Haven, graduated from LC Mohr High in 1974. I grew up on the property that our house in built on. My husband and I raised our two children in South Haven on Center Street and just after they both graduated we built our 'retirement' home that is now a rental. We lived in the house for about three years and then a job opportunity took us about seven miles south of South Haven and we manage a beautiful gated community on Lake Michigan and we live in the home provided for the manager. We still have a few years until we retire, so we decided rather than let the house sit empty that we would rent it throughout the year and let others enjoy the breathtaking area we call home! Only minutes from downtown South Haven and the beaches, this area has always been an ideal location, but when they brought city water and sewer our way, we jumped at the chance to build. My twin sister lives in the house we grew up in, which is right in front of our rental. Our home gives you the best of both worlds in South Haven. You get to enjoy the beaches and all of the shopping you want and at the same time relax away from the hustle and bustle of downtown and enjoy the music of the birds in the morning and evening. Be quiet and you may see our families of deer or the families of wild turkeys. No you can't shoot them!🤪 If your not allergic to poison ivy you can walk through the ravine, otherwise stay where the yard is mowed!! We live within walking distance to my favorite, Sherman's Dairy!! As kids, my sister and I would ride our bikes there every day for a cone! Great childhood! If you enjoy biking, we live within a ten minute ride to the beautiful Kal Haven bike trail. It'll take you all the way to Kalamazoo if you want!! I personally guarantee that you will not be disappointed vacationing in our home.
Lynette Thornton purchased this House in 2001
Why Lynette Thornton chose South Haven
You’re a little bit in the country and a few minutes to the beach😎 We call that “the best of both worlds!” Young children and adults have tons of things to do and we supply everything! Except food!🤪 Come stay at our place and really RELAX! Unless you’re a partier and then you’ll want to stay closer to the beach, because ours is NOT a party house! It’s definitely a “family reunion” house!😎
What makes this House unique
Getting the whole family to vacation in the same home!
