Thanks for considering a Vacasa home! We provide full-service management for privately owned vacation homes, and like to think that we offer our guests the best of both worlds: the unique experience of staying in a one-of-a-kind vacation home, with the peace of mind that comes from knowing that the home you book for your special vacation is cared for by professional housekeepers and property managers.
Vacasa began in 2009, simply because our founder and CEO Eric wanted to find a better way to share his wife’s family’s summer home in Long Beach, Washington with guests as a vacation rental. Eric and his early team worked to build Vacasa on the premise that local employees can do what they love most (taking care of guests, homeowners, and properties), while the hands-off tasks of vacation rental management—things like marketing, filing taxes, and maintaining a website—could be handled by a specialized central support team.
Our passion is connecting travelers with the unique experience of staying in a vacation home, and we would be honored to be your host. Please contact us with any questions about this home—our team is standing by!
We loved staying here. The place was beautiful and cozy. The views were awesome. The town was quant and very close to Boothbay. We can't wait to come back. There was even a wedding one night and we got to enjoy the fireworks! Only problem is the walls are very thin, we heard our neighbor snoring all night. Other than that we would highly recommend it!
While the location is lovely this unit is a nightmare, There is absolutely no sound insulation between units. Every noise from above or next door is intrusive. From the pounding, running feet of young children to the sound of the toilet flushing, TV, conversation, coughing, sneezing, etc. it's as if we were no walls. The unit itself needs a good cleaning. The kitchen floor was filthy, the freezer was unusable do to all the ice (we defrosted it ourselves). The tub did not drain adequately because of hair from previous renters clogging the drain. Kitchen supplies are woefully inadequate but cobwebs abound. Stains on the carpet
(really shouldn't have carpet in a pet-friendly unit). The one thing we did appreciate is the fact that it is dog friendly (probably the main reason we choose this place). We are just here because we are awaiting the moving van so we can move into our new house. Do not rent a unit in the multi-unit building. Choose a single cottage instead. Counting the hours until we are out of here.
As others have noted the walls are paper thin and we could hear conversations and laughter from adjoining units. There was also lots of traffic noise from US 1 which is only yards away. Traffic in August was very heavy. Very convenient location to the road down to Boothbay. I highly recommend the botanic gardens there. The property was clean and nicely furnished just as pictured in the listing. The AC worked well - it was hot when we were there. There were nice places to sit outside and watch the sunsets. The kitchen is VERY tiny and if you stay for more than a day, you need to bring a cooler. No stove, but electric fry pan and microwave worked fine for our needs. The freezer part of the little fridge was completely iced over, so we were unable to make ice while we were there. Like others, we bumped our heads on low light sconces in the bedroom. I think they were supposed to be on either side of the bed, but the bed is on the other wall, so you have to walk by them (narrow path) to get to the bathroom. Just be aware.
We need to prepare out own food when we travel because of medical issues. The lack of stove was not a problem, because the microwave and electric fry pan worked great. There is no storage for food and we had problems with the fridge, so I would recommend bringing a big cooler if you are staying more than 1 day. The bed was VERY comfortable and the AC was appreciated because it was unusually warm when we were there. Pictures posted accurately depict the furnishings which were very nice.
