This lovely two bedroom home is located on a canal, leading to the ocean very close by. It is at the end of the street, so is in a quiet area. The home has stainless steel appliances, fridge, stove and over the range microwave. There is a washer and dryer in the laundry room. The pool is a great way to cool off on a hot day. The master bedroom has a King size bed and a Double in the second bedroom. A Sony 42 inch TV allows for your viewing pleasure, complete with a DVD player and a movie library. A secured gate with remote leads to the car port. If you are not bringing your car, there are plenty of taxi's that service the area for a very reasonable rate. There are two bikes available at a nominal fee. Why stay in a hotel room, when you can enjoy the charm of your own home for the time you are visiting? There is a 41 foot slip on the property, so that your boating friends can visit you. The property is beautifully landscaped with fruit trees, and manicured lawns.

About Rita Roy
I live in Victoria, British Columbia. and when I am not in Canada I love to spend time in Belize. I chose this location because it is an English speaking country in the Caribbean, has terrific weather and I especially like the people of Belize and am very interested in the Mayan culture. There are so many things to see and do in this country, and getting around is quite easy. Visiting the little villages around the area is interesting and trips to the Mennonite communities is a wonderful experience. I enjoy visiting all the cities in Belize. A trip to Chetumal is a must.
Rita Roy purchased this House in 2014
Why Rita Roy chose Corozal
Being located on a canal is a real plus as it is only a half block to the open ocean. It doesn't get much better than this, yet the home is protected by being tucked away from the ocean front which can get pretty frantic during storm season.
What makes this House unique
I love the views from the property and enjoy the pool on a hot day. Just a dip in the pool can make my day as it is very refreshing, I also do exercises in the pool. It's a great way to relax. It is quieter here, as this is the last house on a dead end street. For that reason, I think it is safer as there is only one road in and out. We have a Neighborhood Watch on the street and everyone participates in keeping each other safe. The house is about a half mile to the main highway, that will take you any where you want to go in Belize. To keep you safe we have an alarm system.

Lovely accommodations, poor accoutrements
This is a lovely house, but it requires some attention to make it a lovely home.
The mattress in the second bedroom should be replaced. For anything more than a few nights, you'll likely prefer the couch. If you already are predisposed to having back issues, you're done for.
While we were there, the shower did not drain without waiting for an hour. With 4 adults getting ready, this was completely unacceptable, and could not possibly have been a "new" issue, unknown to the host.
The pool is lovely, but if you're hoping to lounge around the pool, you'll be disappointed that there are no suitable lounge chairs. Who comes to the Caribbean, rents a place with a pool, not expecting to lounge around it?
Kitchen supplies are lacking. I would never expect to have to buy aluminum foil, cling wrap, and the proper coffee filters. (The filters supplied are not correct causing the filter to collapse, grinds to plug up the coffee maker, and the basket doesn't seem to be removable, meaning you have to rinse the whole thing in the sink before brewing your next pot) Is this REALLY how I want to start my day?
The knives are of such poor quality you can probably let your children play with them without fear of injury, but you might get hurt using them, and the BBQ is of a similar quality to things I personally throw away.
Thanks for your review.
When coming to a third world country one cannot bring Canadian and American standards and demand that everything be the same as you have at home. It took a year to find a barbecue here in Belize. When knifes are dull we sharpen them and if need be we use two filters in the coffee pot. The house is well supplied, but if you need something like Saran Wrap and Tin foil those can be purchased at the store 5 minutes away.
I do apologize for the shower not draining properly. Had I known I would have arranged the hotel down the street for you, as it would be difficult to get someone there at Christmas. We dug up the outside plumbing lines and did find a restriction and were able to repair it.
I’m sorry you didn’t notice the beautiful surroundings, the friendly people, the lovely weather and so many other things that our visitors love about Belize and Casa Royale.
Great place, very comfortable
The house is very clean and comfortable, well maintained. The neighborhood is fantastic and the neighbors are very friendly and Corozal Town is minutes away. The caretaker, Ray, was here to meet us when we arrived and showed us the house. He provided his phone number in case of problems and checked up on us during our stay. Beautiful home, on a beautiful street in a beautiful country...what could be better?
Thank-you so much for your lovely words. We work hard to provide a beautiful, relaxed environment for our guests, and it is a pleasure when the details are noticed and appreciated. We look forward to welcoming you again.
We had a nice time the house was very roomy
We loved the house it was very clean. I was really looking forward to sitting around the pool to sun since there are no beaches in the area but there were no lounge chairs at the pool they only had plastic chairs you could take outside. The bedrooms had AC but not in the living room which is where the only TV was to relaxe at night but it was just too hot.
Ray was at the house when we arrived he was great checked on us daily to make sure we had everything we needed.
Thanks for your review, Debbie. Ray takes managing the property very seriously, and would have gotten you lounge chairs had you asked him, that is why he checked on you every day. It would have been kind to give him a chance, as he takes the star rating to heart. I hope you enjoyed Belize.
Beautiful grounds and close to enough to visit most anywhere.
Very beautiful place and surroundings. The Caretaker, Ray is a wonderful man. He can tell you anything about the area and went out of his way to be helpful. It was very hot in the house day and night as others stated. However, it is a very warm climate. We would definitely go there again and would recommend a stay!
Thank-you for your review. We strive hard to make our guests experience as pleasant as possible and are grateful when it is appreciated.
We would love to welcome you back any time, Thanks for coming.
We had an excellent stay.
Accommodations were great. The pool was nice to cool off. Ray was very helpful and checked on us several times during the week.
The only thing that would have been nicer is to have a larger pot to cook pasta.
Thank-you for your lovely comments, Scott. It was a pleasure having you, come back when you can.
We had a ball. Ray does a fabulous job hosting and meeting every reasonable request.
The property is close to town and very well appointed. The bedroom air conditioners were great. The rest of the house, though very nice, was too hot to enjoy by the afternoon.
Corozal town is about a 20 minute walk, where you will find banking, shopping, a market and interesting shops. This is a Caribbean town so shopping is better done in a bigger centre, but the town is colourful and interesting. There are plenty of restaurants and bars. Dining is very inexpensive. Your US dollar is worth twice as much here. One Mall, which is about a half mile from the house has been a great addition. They have groceries, an inexpensive restaurant, liquor store and gas station. There are Mayan ruins at Santa Rita which is on the outskirts of the town, well worth a visit. You can also do cave tubing, deep sea diving in Belize. There are a myriad of things to do. Don't forget biking, we rent two for your enjoyment.
We can assist you in visiting the neighboring areas, such as a visit to Chetumal, Mexico, Orange Walk or the villages in the area. We can also arrange tours for you, a jungle ride to visit the ruins at Lamani is a must. Of course, Chetumal, Mexico is only 12 miles away, and worth a visit.
