Wonderful location - house/services need work

  • 3 of 5

Overall, I loved working with Julie and the house location in Tahoe. I'd come back if the owner addressed a few items.

Service - 5 stars.

Julie was a pleasure to work with and answered my many questions regarding Tahoe and what to do for the 4th.

House - 2 stars.

-Ventilation/Cooling: Like most houses there is no A/C but also there are no fans. Two of my friends sharing a room went out and bought

their own fan.

-Kitchen - Please fix the kitchen cupboard that wont' close. It was so annoying we put medical tape over to keep it from hitting people in the head. No microwave. Very low on utensils and cups. Hardly any wine glasses.

-Towels. Please buy more towels. The house holds advertises it holds 10 but we had only towels for 8.

Owner's Response: Dear Jessreae, Thank you for your service remarks, we appreciate the 5 stars. As part of our 5 star service please see the follow up to some of your concerns. For homes in Tahoe A/C is rarely needed and fans provided at the house help during our hottest days. There are ceiling fans in each bed room and floor fans in the upstairs closets to supplement. We are sorry your friends had to purchase additional fans. The new kitchen cupboards have been adjusted and all close correctly. The kitchen is brand new and includes a microwave. I am sorry you might have overlooked its built-in location at the lower cabinets. We have many guests that rave about the “Chef’s” Kitchen. The house does accommodate 10 guests and there are plenty of towels available. If you find you need more you are welcome to contact the rental office and we will be happy to confirm the towel location in the future. We are thrilled that you enjoyed the home and we hope you can return. If you have any further comments, please feel free to contact us at West Lake Properties.

Perfect place to spend Christmas

  • 5 of 5

The house was nicer than it looked online. The kitchen is awesome with great appliances and plenty of cookware, plates, glasses and utensils. The house was very clean and comfortable and the fact that they allow renters to park in the garage made it that much better, especially since it was winter.

Sleeping arrangements.. The main floor bedroom was nice but the upstairs ones were extremely tight. Just for sleeping, right? ;-) The room with the pool table was a lot of fun but my 15 yo son complained that the murphy bed and the pillow provided hurt his back so he sleep on the couch after the first night.

During our stay, we enjoyed playing pool, sledding on the hill behind the house, sledding on the street when it was icy and a snowmobile trip. The sledding behind the hill was probably the highlight. A neighbor with a snowmobile laid down the track and it was simply perfect the we didn't have to get in the car and go anywhere to enjoy the snow.

Next time, we will definitely check to see if this house is available.

Great place!

  • 5 of 5

This place was recently remodeled and beautifully updated. It was very comfortable and included mostly new furniture, gas fireplace, large TV & all very modern appliances. Lovely large decks with hot tub, BBQ, and built in seating.. All the amenities for a comfortable vacation. We enjoyed beautiful walks in the forest area just out the back door. Short drive to lake, stores & restaurants. Will definately go back to this place!

Wow!

  • 5 of 5

This was our first time in this house but I'm sure it won't be our last! We came up with another family and had a great time! The kids had no problem entertaining themselves in the game room while the adults were able to relax downstairs in the plush kitchen and living area! The kitchen was amazing...top notch appliances and fully stocked with any utensil we could possibly need. The downstairs had obviously been remodeled recently and had a clean, modern look that was warm and comfortable to hang out in. You could watch the giant TV or look out the floor to ceiling windows and soak up the view.

The upstairs was a fun throwback in time with the murphy beds in the game room and the crazy bathroom wallpaper. The kids loved playing up there and we liked the fact that they had their "own space".

A fun plus was the sauna!

We will definitely be back!
