We had a great vacation in Panorama at this condo. Check in was easy, condo owner was very responsive to all of our inquiries. The condo is modern, and had all plus more you could ask for. We used the common BBQ located between the two condo units, and one of the other guests mentioned she didn't have any utensils and had to ask. We were fully equipped, even down to the ketchup and mustard ++ left in the fridge for our use. We have rented from VRBO many times, this condo was one of the well equipped condos with the little extras you may need.
The bed and bedding we more than comfortable and we had no problem with the master bedroom being very hot at night, as posted by 2 other guests. There was a bamboo shade placed on the deck, and a ceiling fan as well as a tower fan in the condo which we used, and worked well, we were not hot at all even with the temps nearing 30 C a couple days.
The balcony faced the ski hill, so you have a great view every morning and evening. Great stay if you are a young family as the village had all types of fun activities for the kids. Plenty of options for restaurants, even the local bar was open for kids up to 10 pm for meals. If you are a downhill mountain biker, this would be a great vacation spot. Would recommend and return.
When we first arrived we went to the central check in, they didn't have our names on the list for the condo so we had to wait 30 minutes for the check in guys to get the okay from Karyn. We checked in at 4pm (check in is at 3pm), when we got up to the condo the cleaning staff was still there and wasn't close to being done. He even asked if we could come back...
We also had to park in a different building as there's only 12 parking stalls in the building we were staying.
We unloaded our stuff into the bedroom and then left for a hour, he was still there after that hour. So we grabbed our things and went down to the pool. The grounds and pools were amazing.
When we went for a hike and dinner after the pool. We got back to our room around 10pm. But, our keys no longer worked. So we had to go get new keys from the central check in (which is in the lower village). Took us an hour to walk one way, as the gondola closes at 10pm. We finally got our keys and went up to the condo.
The condo itself is very nice. We have no complaints of the room itself. It can get very warm, but fans were provided.
Karyn was very nice and left us a great bottle of wine for our first wedding anniversary as well.
We only gave the place 3 stars as it was a huge hassle to get settled and our whole first day we couldn't even really stay in the place. (We got back from central check in at 1130pm).
We were offered late checkout for our issues. But we felt that that was very minor compensation.
I'll start with the good things about this condo and then get to the bad because I don't want to leave the impression that it was all terrible BUT when all you have is 5 days in a place it's got to go smooth from the moment you open the door.
The Good: Beautifully furnished, clean, top of the line kitchen & tools, fridge with ice maker and filtered water (there was a no drink water advisory when I was there), wonderful views & 2 minute walk to the pools.
The Bad: Owner was impossible to get in touch with before we left for the trip. Only got to speak to her 2 days into my stay and though she emailed me, I was already on my road trip and did not have email access. There was no welcome package left for us which usually includes wifi links and passwords so for two days no wifi. There were only 4 towels for five people from the onset but again, 2 days later the owner had the cleaner bring up more towels to our group. The worst thing was the temperature in the condo. It was stifling hot...to the point that the bedroom could not be slept in and I slept on the balcony floor. One cannot breathe in the bedroom and we did EVERYTHING POSSIBLE like keep blinds drawn all day, windows closed; even the ceiling and floor fans could not possible alleviate the torture it was to try and fall asleep in that room. Last night slept in the living room on the sofa couch and it was GREAT! Cannot explain the problem with the bedroom but it was like an oven. I think that room needs an air conditioner in the worst way for the summer months in Panorama. This condo was the last leg of a two week road trip and it ended well...Panorama Mountain Resort is a nice place.
We had a fantastic vacation in panorama! Karen's condo was perfect & had everything we needed!
We would recommend it & return in the future :)
We had a great stay at this condo. It was our first stay in Panorama and we were impressed by its charm and the amount of family-friendly things to do. We found the beds comfortable (our kids especially liked the Murphy bed :-) and the kitchen was well-equipped. The location was great- close walk to the hot pools and ski hill. There was excellent communication from the owner; we'd stay here again.
