This newly renovated Kove is an unbeatable location on the South end of Lake Lanier in Cumming, Georgia just off of Buford Dam Road. The property is minutes from a variety of restaurants, entertainment, downtown Cumming and Highway 400, all while still maintaining the perfect vacation, get-away feel. You do not need to get on any major highways to get to Downtown Cumming coming from this location.
Once you enter the Kove you immediately feel like you are on the lake. The family room & dining area are lined with windows along the backside of the house. Come out onto the huge new deck which is just 40 feet from the water and watch the wildlife and fish jump. Come off the deck and you walk onto grass all the way down to the water. Guests will enjoy a fully equipped kitchen, beautiful dining area with surrounding windows, family room with a large flatscreen TV. Sleeping arrangements allow for 6 to sleep comfortably. All 3 bedrooms have queen beds. There is also a Kottage & Kabin available for rent which are both across the street from each other and 5 minutes away from the Kove! Inquire for more details.
There is a deck which is perfect for summer nights! There are several adirondack chairs & large table to make it a perfect area for grilling out on the gas grill.
A 40 ft grassed walk down from the dock leads to the large covered dock which is where the 25 ft pontoon boat is available for rent. The dock is perfect for lounging out during the day and fishing at night especially since there is electricity for lights. You wouldn’t believe the fishing from the dock!
Should you bring your own, a boat ramp is a mile away at Little Ridge Park. Lake Lanier Islands and Sunset Cove are local hangouts on the lake and are just a short 15-20 minute boat ride away by pontoon.
This is a great swimming, boating and fishing location. You will really enjoy this true getaway haven any time of the year whether it be Spring, Summer, Fall or Winter. We are about 30 minutes from the mountains and 30-45 minutes north of Atlanta. Please do not hesitate to call with any questions. This is a family owned Kove, Kabin and Kottage and have been doing rentals for 8 years now. We accept all major credit cards!
My husband, grad school daughter and I spent 4 nights at the Kove. As soon as we walked into the Kottage we were amazed at the layout, the cleanliness, and everything we needed in the kitchen. The location was awesome easy to run back to the store to pick something up that I had forgotten to buy. The location on the lake was perfect as well. We did take advantage and rented the pontoon boat which we thoroughly enjoyed. The only trouble we had was with the ladder on the boat so getting back in was a small challenge.
As for the steepness to get to the dock, it was definitely better than Lake Cumberland. The week that we stayed at the Kove I was in a hard boot due to a recent fracture in my foot. I didn't have any issues getting to and from the dock, if my 86 year old mom was there she would probably struggle without assistance. But for my husband and myself both in our 50's it was not a problem at all.
I worked mainly with Anne, she always responded immediately or in a timely manner. Her and her husband even came out the first night to get us setup with the boat. If you are looking for a lake rental I definitely would recommend Kove Kottage.
The property and house are beautiful! We really enjoyed out stay! We enjoyed being right on the lake, and spent most of our time out on the dock or on the lake. We loved the area! The owners were so friendly, and answered all our questions. We are already planning on another vacation there next summer.
This property is really gorgeous and clean. Access to the lake is wonderful. However, both the driveway and the walk down to the dock are VERY steep! My mother in law had great difficulty with this and had we known, we might have made another choice so as not to limit her. The hosts/owners were not on sight and there was no information re: surrounding stores, etc. They were very slow to respond to our attempts to contact them for information. We were not informed that the boats are available to rent by their other properties and found out a few days before our arrival! So no boat for us. There is no internet. If the weather is bad, this would cause a problem (we actually brought our own DVD player and HDMI cable & computers-Netflix- for movies & had to use the DVD player b/c no internet! We found a Redbox rental nearby on our own...) The kitchen could use a few things: at least 1 more medium sized pot, a proper bottle opener (again, had our own), cheese grater. No sponge for doing the dishes. We rent in different locations several times a year, and while we enjoyed ourselves, this felt very amateurishly managed.
Thank you Anne and Kelly for the perfect birthday getaway for my husband. The property is even better in person than in the photos! Nice kitchen with everything we needed for cooking. We so enjoyed our meals on the deck with the beautiful views of the lake. Comfortable beds with very nice linens! We Were so glad we decided to rent your pontoon boat, and used it for cruising as well as fishing. The only small problem we had was the last night when we tried to grill our steaks, and found there was no propane in the grill. Otherwise a perfectly wonderful experience! Hope to stay again in the future!
