Affordable place near downtown
Overall, the property fit our needs. The location is pretty good near downtown Cheyenne, though not all of the houses in the area are well maintained. The interior was perfect for our little family and was clean and cozy. The exterior of the property was in pretty rough shape however. The path to the front door was overgrown with weeds, and the front yard was likewise in bad shape.
The other major problem I had was difficulty communicating with the property manager. After receiving a check in message from her via email the night we arrived, I twice attempted to ask questions by replying to her email with no response.
In general, the property was worth the very affordable price it cost, and we had no regrets!
Worked nicely for us.
Just passing through and needed a place to sleep, cook for next parody trip and do laundry. This place was perfect. Clean and comfortable.
I emailed the property manager twice about the address of the property with no response. Finally on the morning of the day of check-in, I called Home Away for assistance. They connected me with the property manager. She gave me all the information I needed about the key code, the address and how to access the unit. I credit her for being nice and polite on the phone. I had figured out the address the night before by searching for the property on Google map. The bed was comfortable. The airconditioner was in the bedroom window. Baseboards in the bathroom showed some dirt. But bathroom was fine with a good shower. The kitchen has nice tile work, microwave, coffee maker and pots and pans for cooking. Small things like the refrigerator not being level and moving when I opened the door; and the dishwasher not fully installed (sticks out); plus smudges on the washing machine as if it had not been wiped down. Then there was the entrance to the unit from the alley where I decided to park my car. Even had I parked on the street, access was through a gate from the alley. The adjoining house had families and single guys, I guess. Everyone was friendly enough. I would say the pictures on the VRBO site were more complimentary than the reality. That being said, access to restaurants, movies, downtown and shopping was very good. This being my first experience does not bode well for another. However, I may try VRBO in the future. If I do, I will check out the property more diligently.
Nice "apartment", but dirty.
The "house" is really a small apartment off the main house. It was very nicely remodeled. Loved having a washer and dryer in the unit to use! Unfortunately, the place was NOT cleaned well at all. The bathroom sink still had hair in it from someone shaving and the floors were really gross. My 9 year old commented on it before I said anything. The kitchen sink still had dirty water in it. I had to wipe the counters down before using them and made me uncomfortable the rest of the stay. If someone from the main house has a party in the back yard, it's right in front of the door to the place and very loud. They did respect how late they were out but were very loud. It just didn't feel as private as advertised. It's priced well, just needs a housekeeper.
Nice and New
It was new but needs some upgrades for comfort. The futon in the living room and the bed were uncomfortable. The walls were pretty
bare and needed some lamps to read by.
Would be more suitable for a single person. Crawling across the bed was difficult.
The owners were responsive and helpful.
Quaint little place with all the amenities one needs!
I love this little one-bedroom house! It is quiet and very comfortable for my 2-day stay.
