About Linda Garrity

We purchased Kah-Nee-Tah Gallery & Cottages in December of 2015 and we've hit the ground running ever since. We were drawn to the 3 classic cottages while showing them to clients in my profession as a realtor/business owner on the North Shore of MN and ended up becoming the buyers!!

Linda Garrity purchased this cabin in 2014

Why Linda Garrity chose Northeast

Cozy, affordable, pet-friendly, charming and classic cottage with views of Lake Superior. Very close to Lutsen and Grand Marais, not to mention several trailheads to the Superior Hiking Trail. Cobblestone woodburning fireplaces make it difficult to leave the warmth of the cottage. Listen to the waves roll in, too.

Charming Northshore Retreat

  • 4 of 5

We had an incredibly three-night stay at Kah-Nee-Tah Gallery and Cottages over Labor Day Weekend. Our cozy studio cabin was clean and neat and provided just enough space for two humans and one dog (they love dogs!). We took advantage of the lack of television and instead spent our time cooking and grilling, utilizing the fire place during brisk nights, reading in bed, and enjoying the sounds of Lake Superior from our cottage's deck.

We found hiking trails, a nice park, and Grand Marais an easy drive from Kah-Nee-Tah Gallery and Cottages. The perfect location! We also enjoyed perusing the two galleries and speaking with Danielle, who gave us great suggestions on how to spend some of our free time.

Thank you for the lovely hospitality, Kah-Nee-Tah! We shall return!

As advertised, simple & welcoming!

  • 5 of 5

This little one room studio was just the ticket for us for our two-day getaway ... and we could bring our dog and save boarding costs or petsitting arrangements. The cottage had everything as advertised--with the lovely surprise of top quality organic soaps, lotions, and hair care products, as well as great towels. We found everything we needed for our stay. A bargain, with nice amenities.

Cozy, Cute, Captivating!

  • 5 of 5

We went here for our honeymoon and absolutely loved it. Everything is as described and was above satisfactory. We enjoyed the fireplace, kitchen cookware, and the location which put us in the middle of the North Shore Tourist Hub. We loved it so much we didn't take the time to meet our host. We hope to return and properly introduce ourselves. It was a great experience!

Sweet little cabin close to the lake

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in the studio 3 cabin and loved our stay! It's a quaint, small space but it was more than adequate for our little family of three. It's a cabin in the "woods" but not secluded which we liked to know that there were many residences close by and the lakeshore is a short walk across the street, but it's private property and not part of the hotel. There's plenty to explore nearby and other access points to the lake so it's not a hassle. This place is truly a hidden gem and perfect if you're looking for a place to spend time hanging out unplugged. The full kitchen is all you need. Thanks so much Kah-née-tah!

Surprised all other reviews are 5 Stars

  • 3 of 5

When we booked we noted that the rental had 25 reviews, 24 of them were 5 stars, and one was 4 stars. How? Candidly we did enjoy our stay, but with all the other vacation options on the North Shore how did this place get 5 stars across the board. The bathroom had a stall shower reminiscent of summer camp, with an exposed water heater. The bed had a nice concave shape to it. The cot/sleeping pad from the previous 2 nights of camping was more comfortable. It was clean, and felt cozy, but would need a lot more than that to continue earning that 5 star rating from me. I wouldn't say this place is bad by any means, just need a reality check for others hoping it's 5 stars.

Perfect for our family of three - great fireplace for a rainy afternoon.

  • 4 of 5

Very quaint and cozy cottage. Perfect for our family of three traveling with dog. Were able to make use of the beautiful fireplace on a rainy afternoon. Close to lake and very close to Grand Marias and Casade Falls State park, huge bonus.
