Rustic, Charming River Cottage
We enjoyed our stay - our hosts thought of everything - board games, yard equipment, grill, canoe, and fishing gear etc. The only issue we had was the sulphur water, which at times, seemed to overpower the cabin with that sulphur odor. If you are not familiar with the St. Lawrence River, you will be pleasantly surprised. It is lovely and watching the ships pass by, was quite thrilling. Fishing is great too. There is only the one bathroom, so guests staying in the outside cabin, do have to come in to use the facilities. However, for us, that was not an issue. All in all, it was a good time!
Great location, minor inconveniences
This cabin is in a great location. It sports amazing views of sunsets on the St. Lawrence, sailboats, ships of all sizes, and Canada. You can fish from the dock.
The cabin is in easy driving distance to Ogdensburg and Alexandria Bay.
You can hear the river while sitting in the cabin with the doors open.
Minor inconveniences: no privacy. There is no air conditioning so the doors had to be open for air circulation. There is one bathroom with access via the bedroom in the main part of the cabin. There is another access door to the bathroom that opens to the outside, but we didn't want to deal with the spider webs, etc.
Great location, beautiful view
We loved the location and the views were beautiful. The property was good. Because of the high water level in the River swimming was a little tough for a 5 and 7 year old. The camp was equipped with everything we needed. The big problem was the water in the camp. It had not been run before we got there so when it was turned on there was a very strong sulpher odor. The hot water was a dark brown color. It took two days for it to clear up. The odor remained slightly but was tolerable. All in all we had a good vacation but the water issue got us off to a bad start.
Very relaxing just what we needed
This is a very nice place. We would love to come back.
A classic St. Lawrence River camp
We knew we were pushing our luck staying in an unheated summer cottage on the St. Lawrence in October - and it did get cold. However, this was a great place for our extended family. The main cabin is classic single wall construction, enhanced by two newer bedrooms on the deck. There is a huge deck area and easy access to the shore - you'll appreciate that more in the summer time. The setting is perfect with a great sunset view of Brockville, Ontario
Would reccomend and will be returning next summer!
My family and I had the best time during our week we rented this camp!
The frary's had the house stocked with pretty much all you need.
The views from the deck are beautiful!
We will be back next year!
We are so glad you enjoyed your stay! We hope to see you next year.
