Needs a really good cleaning up!

  • 3 of 5

This is in a mountain subdivision on less than one acre of land. The pictures they don't show you are the ones showing that some cleaning needs to be done. There was cooked macaroni still in the kitchen sink and it looked like the windows hadn't been cleaned or windowsills cleaned in years. When I opened the kitchen window to get a breeze, there were so many cobwebs, dead bugs and dirt, it made me want to close it again so I didn't have to look at it. This property really needs some TLC. Good thing, was the pool table in the basement was fun!

A real review

  • 3 of 5

We enjoyed our stay and this home was plenty big enough for 10 people...mixed with adults, children and teenagers. I'll start with the location. The location was great. Nice, quiet and close to many surrounding towns and activities. The house....well the house does have normal wear and tear, but overall was nice. The deck on the back porch is not up to code. A child's body can fit through the rails. There are two sets of stairs in the home so if you have small children this presents you with having to watch them closely. You cannot effectively attach a baby gate to the stairs. The bottom porch is screened in and has screen doors but the screen doors do not stay little kids cannot be completely contained here either....this part of the review comes from the mindset of someone that is constantly watching their small children and was looking for a place to get away and not have to worry so much about things not being safe....which didn't happen here. But we worked through it. Moving on to house other reviews it mentions how the house is not so clean. Well if you go in with the mindset of beach rental or hotel cleanliness you will be disappointed. There was dried coke on the kitchen island, dog hair everywhere, pretty sure the bed comforters had not been washed, the towels are random and partially folded, you must re wash all the dishes and we swept the floor in the home and the decks when we arrived, the washer is also dirty. None of this made us not enjoy our stay. We loved the fireplace. However the owners stopped communicating as soon as check in. I notified them of a small fire in oven, no response, I asked when I could expect the deposit again no response, when I said hey can you respond I finally got one...they said they weren't responding because 2 parts to the hot tub were missing so I wasn't getting deposit till found....I had to rely on the person cleaning the home to find said part...not much faith since they do not clean well...but it was found under hot tub and deposit was returned. Would I stay because of the no response after check in and the way they handled missing part. Did we enjoy our stay...yes....would you enjoy yours....most likely. Happy vacationing!

Went to enjoy the mountain air and besides one day the weather was spectacular. Just a few notes to mention was that there was no gas grill fluid (really not a big really not a huge deal but I'd just suggest making sure it is stocked with that) and the railing down to the basement was slightly WOBBLY Nothing Earth shattering. SUPER close to the Lake where my husband and son fished and caught some AMAZING fish. We really enjoyed some serious R&R here, played pool, darts and spent a lot of time in the hot tub. AND we got to bring our dogs so that was great too. Easy to get answers from the owners. They were great in responding. Also close enough to Helen which we got to enjoy our last day. :)

Loved it!

  • 4 of 5

We had a great time! House had everything we needed and the location was awesome! Loved sitting on the porch during a rainstorm, sweet! Very close to numerous hiking trails which we enjoyed immensely. We would definitely go back again! Host great to work with and very accommodating. They made our honeymoon extra special!

Great place to stay!

  • 5 of 5

This house was perfect for myself and my 3 teen/adult children! From the hot tub to the pool table, to the Trouble game in the buffet drawer, we kept ourselves busy in the evenings! I was very surprised to find that Ingles, in Hiawassee, was better stocked than our grocery store at home!!! Kind of a Whole Foods/Trader Joes/Fresh Market on steroids! We were able to fix full breakfasts in the kitchen every morning and dinners in the evening. Even used the barbeque grill one evening. The bedrooms are well equipped and comfortable. A bathroom on every floor was so convenient! I enjoyed the rocking chairs on the porch, nice for some quiet time with my morning coffee! Not fancy but comfortable, if you are a nit picker you will find things wrong:) But overall this is a comfortable house, great for coming back to after a long day of hiking!
