About Sherry Skari

Lars and I live in the Los Angeles area. Lars was born and raised on a potato/wheat farm in Norway and came to the United States as a college student. I, Sherry, grew up in Los Angeles and was raised by Japanese immigrant parents. We met at the University of California, Santa Barbara and married soon after. Lars is a business consultant and I am an elementary school teacher. We have fallen in love with the Big Island and the relaxed upscale area of the Waikoloa Beach Resort. We would love to share our tropical island home with you.

Sherry Skari purchased this condo in 2015

Why Sherry Skari chose Waikoloa

Lars and I wanted a place large enough for extended family and friends to stay with us and we wanted it to be near shops, restaurants, and local entertainment. The Waikoloa Beach Villas is situated in a wonderful resort area, it is beautifully landscaped, and it has that low key, relaxed, elegance that helps us get away from our busy lives in Los Angeles. It is a10 minute walk to scenic Anaeho'omalu beach and the fabulous Lava Lava Club restaurant on the beach.

What makes this condo unique

Our condo is located on the dry, sunny side of the island and the temperature is consistently in the 80's all year long. It has some beautiful beaches nearby and is conveniently close to Kona, Waimea, and North Kohala. The Big Island is the largest and most adventure filled island of Hawaii. The snorkeling and diving is the best of all the islands, because of its long and protected coastline. It protects the coral and attracts the coral eating fish. There are 11 of the world's 14 climate zones on the Big Island. You have arctic tundra, pasturelands, pine forests, desserts, and tropical rainforest all on one island. It is an amazing and culturally diverse paradise and we love to share it with our family, friends, and guests.

Great Location and Great Value

  • 5 of 5

Our Family enjoyed all amenities that this location had to offer. Home was very clean and very relaxing.

Only bad thing was upstairs there is a TV that does not work but really why are we watching TV when in Hawaii.

We look forward to returning on our next trip to Hawaii.

Aloha from the Otsuji and Sterling Family

From Alaska to Hawaii, it was a great place to stay with family

  • 5 of 5

Nice location close to all the beaches and Hilton pool and even shops across the street with a market and restraunts. Definitely would stay there again. Easy access to check in and out. This place has everything you need to have a great vacation with family. I only have a couple of suggestions, maybe have a pair of scissors and a mixer would be nice, we did have to lower the temp on the refrigerator and freezer, because they werent quite cold enough, but i"m sure it is turned down after families leave to conserve, and without any markings on the knobs for the stove it was hard to tell the temperatures(Hi-Low). But it was a great stay and beautiful property. We thank you for the hospitality. Mahalo

Owner's Response: Hi Ken, Thanks so much for your feedback and nice review! I will call our management company and ask them to get a new scissor and mixer. I know we had a pair of scissors there before, but sometimes things go missing in action. We are looking into buying a new stove/oven too. Thanks again for staying with us. :)

Fabulous property in perfect location!

  • 5 of 5

We just left this excellent property and can't say enough about it. Three bedrooms and great layout made for more than adequate room for five adults. The property is very well equipped and maintained. The location is great right across from Queen's Shopping and Starbucks literally a few steps away! We would highly recommend this property to anyone! The passes to the Hilton resort provide an excellent access to a top rate pool and resort as well. Not to be missed are!! Lava Lava happy hour, Hawi ziplining and drive on Saddle Road to Hilo and Volcanoes National Park. We even got toe experience an earthquake! Thank you for a fabulous week in beautiful Waikoloa.

Owner's Response: Wow, Kevin! We couldn't ask for a nicer review. You're the first guest we have ever had to experience a Big Island earthquake and make it seem like a great adventure. Sounds like you really had some great experiences with the zip lining in Hawi and the Volcano/Madame Pele before she started getting a little feisty. :) Thanks again for taking the time to write such a wonderful review for us! Cheers! Sherry

Very nice place.

  • 5 of 5

This is a really nice condo. It is spacious.....even a little luxurious, especially for a rental. Very clean, pretty well stocked with things you need. It deserves five stars. I will, however, provide some tiny critiques that do not sway my five star opinion: facility managers are on the prowl. Put that parking pass in your windshield. I assumed it was for Hilton, but it is for the actual condo. Our suburban did not fit in the garage. We got a couple parking warnings on our windshield. We also got a note because we had a towel hanging on a chair on the towel, seemed a little rigid. And finally, the master bed mattress may need to be flipped or something, I don’t know, but it had a noticeable depression on my side. I do not know about other mattresses. The lack of a master bathroom door is not a feature that I prefer, even though it had a tiny toilet closet with a door. It makes it hard to take a shower or whatever when the other is sleeping.

All that said, this is a really nice place and we enjoyed our time there. Location is great along Kona coast if you don’t mind driving to your daily destination. You would not easily walk to a beach from this location.

We also found the Hilton pass very useful on a couple occasions since we had a bunch of kids.

Spacious and Clean

  • 5 of 5

We loved this condo! Perfect for our family of six. It was clean and felt luxurious. What we appreciated most was the amenities and supplies. Having beach towels, beach chairs, umbrellas and coolers made our beach hopping so enjoyable. We liked staying north of Kona because of all the beautiful beaches in the area. We would definitely stay here again.
