Enjoy your summer or winter at a 3 bedroom/2 bath modern-rustic farmhouse on two acres in the cozy village of North Egremont. This house has just been renovated, and features a flea-market-chic aesthetic updated for modern lifestyles.
The great country kitchen features a Subzero fridge, French Lacanche range, apron-front fireclay sink, new LG dishwasher and an antique marble-topped island. The dining room is spacious, and the cozy den has a large TV with Dish Network and an upright grand piano. Off the back porch is a large, utilitarian mudroom with sink and new LG front-load washer and dryer. The large full bath downstairs has a stand-alone claw foot tub with shower ring. The antique floors were just refinished, so they're wonderfully uneven and can snag socks - wearing slippers or bare feet is recommended.
All the bedrooms are upstairs - two large bedrooms (one with queen bed, the other with two twins) and one medium-sized room with double bed - all with closets. The "vintage-sized" full bath upstairs is at the end of the hall. There is a hard-working wood stove and steam heat radiators, and, of course, Wi-Fi. The cell phone carrier is AT&T, which gets the best reception here by far. A landline is available, also.
Outside is our long side porch with seating, and the backyard has a beautiful seasonal stream running through it, just behind the barn. We also added a 5-person hot tub by the back porch. This homestead is in the village, so the house is set back about 20 feet from the road, with abundant space in the back for running, playing and lounging.
We have just planted a courtyard of many small fruit bushes in the front yard (not ready to pick until summer 2018), and we have chickens and sheep on the property. The chickens can free-range (so long as there are no dogs) or stay in their coop. They lay eggs daily, and they are friendly. Feel free to pick them up or pet them with care. The sheep graze in their rotational pasture seasonally, and while we ask that guests stay out of their pen, they will eat alfalfa pellets from your hand. We will have a caretaker coming by once a day to water and feed the animals.
This place is absolutely magical in every season!
