What a beautiful place to stay on our first trip to New Orleans. Marie and Raphael gave us great places to go hang out, eat, and sight see! Highly recommend this little gem and would definitely stay again!

Wonderful find

  • 4 of 5

The place is very lovely and well appointed. And the owners were wonderful - very accommodating and friendly. I had mixed feelings about the location. It has good cafes nearby and it is easy to get to the French Quarter, but I wasn't sure if it was the safest place to be, especially if I was alone at night. However, that could be said of much of New Orleans. All in all, really enjoyed staying there and if I get the chance to return to NOLA soon, I wouldn't hesitate staying there again.

Stay at this House!

  • 5 of 5

I cannot say enough about how much we loved this house. It is the most beautifully unique, artistic, eclectic New Orleans spot I've seen...a real work of art. We've been to NOLA a number of times, but this was where we had the most authentic New Orleans experience. The Bywater district is in "transition", which means you get a little bit of everything: trendy coffee shops and hip bars just a five minute walk away, colorful neighbors, hole-in-the-wall corner stores, newly renovated homes adjacent to those long forgotten...all beautiful and perfect in their own way. Marie and Raphael were fantastic hosts, and their home so lovely, that we were more than happy to skip the Quarter, and the Garden District, our first day there and spend the afternoon at "home", listening to jazz and watching the rain. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a neighborhood rich in culture, a home full of charm and individuality, and a convenient location. Everything to do or see in the city is a quick walk, drive or trolley ride away. Sidenote: Raphael is a fantastic musician! Be sure to ask to hear a sample while you're there.

Perfect Place to Relax and Enjoy NOLA

  • 5 of 5

This was the best choice for a place to stay in NOLA. It is so cute and cozy and there are perfect little touches included that really make you feel at home. I was surprised at how spacious it was. It could fit at least 4 people comfortably. It included all the amenities of home such as a full kitchen with pots and pans and dishes, washer, dryer, little library of books, DVDs, CDs, and tons of info about New Orleans. The bus was a couple of steps outside of the door and very convenient. The owners are incredibly nice and were available to answer any question we had. Thankfully we had Wi-Fi internet access for those days we needed to check email or do work. And the owner even included a little binder of info with personal recommendations of good places to eat, drink, get groceries, you name it. I don't think a hotel could have been any better when it comes to comfort and helpfulness. I highly recommend staying here if you're in NOLA. You will be happy you did.

Perfect getaway spot

  • 5 of 5

My partner and I could not have asked for better accommodations while visiting New Orleans. Almost daily during our stay, I would jokingly brag about how clever I was for finding this house, and for not booking a hotel room. Our host was lovely, very helpful, and welcoming. The area has a great market nearby, and some fantastic restaurants. It's about a 20-minute walk to the French Quarter.
