Wonderful house right on the sound. Only problems were the amount of spiders throughout the home as well as the cobwebs coating the back side of the home. Also, there were an abundance of food and hygienic products left in the kitchen and bathrooms (including a sliver of used soap in the shower as well as used deordorants in the medicine cabinets) making it seem like a lived in home rather than a vacation rental. Phyllis however was very communicative and the house itself was gorgeous, generally well maintained and in a wonderful location.
Great property for family
Very comfortable home. Great time swimming off the dock. We will book again.
Thank you Brenda. Glad you enjoyed yourselves.
This property is perfect for two or eight guests, with everything you need to make your stay as comfortable as being home. The view of the water is icing on the cake. My husband and I were so pleased we plan on returning in the Fall with our adult children. Phyllis is a most gracious host, and was available, if needed, to answer your questions.
Thank you so much. I am so glad enjoyed yourselves and found a few moments to relax.
What a beautiful home! Phyllis was a fabulous hostess. We can’t wait to come back and stay in this wonderful home again!
Looking forward to you returning. Thank you so much
One of Our Best Family Vacations
We came for my husband's 30th birthday and we all had a wonderful time! The home was beautiful and the view could not be beat!!! Phylis was the perfect host and we are already planning our next trip!
Isn't that a wonderful view. My breath is taken each time I look out.
Peace and Quiet
We had such an amazing time! Sitting on the dock, fire pit, playing corn hole, and cooking in the kitchen were just some of the things we enjoyed. The house was cozy and Phyllis was the sweetest and answered any question we had in minutes! Thank u so much for allowing us to stay in your beautiful home! We can’t wait to come back!!!
I am so glad you enjoyed your time. Don’t you just love that water view. It is so peaceful!
Hertford is home to baseballs Jim "Catfish" Hunter. Catfish played for the Kansas City Athletics, Oakland A's and New York Yankees. There is a museum in his honor in historic Hertford. Admission is free but is not always open on Saturdays. Must call to arrange for Saturdays.
Hertford also is home to the oldest courthouse in the state that is still in continuous use and also hold the oldest recorded land deed in North Carolina.
Just down the road in Edenton are some wonderful boat tours and a beautiful historic town. You can also watch a baseball game with the Steamers. The field's main grandstand is the oldest remaining wooden grandstand of its type in North Carolina
