Privately owned and very secure apartment with large all round garden with fruit trees and fabulous views to the ocean and the famous black rock. Large Shared pool (Full Luz Ocean Club Facilities). All windows and patio doors have retractable steel security grills fitted. It is centrally located in the village with a well stocked supermarket only 2 minutes walk away and the wonderful sandy beach is only a 5 minute stroll away. There is off-road private parking spaces to the rear and the main door is reached through a lockable gated entrance. Bedding linen, towels and utilities are all included. All pubs, shops restaurants are within easy reach and a car is not required. A regular bus service is available if you want to explore further than Praia Da Luz.

An iternet TV box is installed and an Sky Dish Dish with Sky Box, 42' Plasma TV is installed. Bring your own sky box or card for more channels if you want to.

Change over day is flexible!

Pools:

The pool in front of the apartment is included as from 2014 with 4 Adult passes supplied. Children under five go free. All Luz Ocean Club Pools can be used.

Activities and Restaurants:: The Algarve is famous for its Golf and within 30 minutes drive from Praia da Luz is the world famous Penina Golf Course, more locally within 5 to 10 mins drive are 4 Golf courses Boavista, Parque da Floresta, Belavista & Palmares. You can go Dolphin watching or big game fishing or book a sightseeing cruises are go on a boat trip to the nearby grottos & sea caves, you are also only a short drive to the surfing beaches of the west coast. Luz is an excellent place to learn to dive with its PADI certificate diving school and is on the edge on of the regions largest Nature reserves Costa Vicentin. For those who love the countryside Horse Riding is nearby. Locally there is tennis courts, water skiing, jet skiing, banana rides, paragliding and windsurfing. There are restaurants to suit all tastes including Beach and Local restaurants English, Pizza, Chinese and Indian there is also cafe snack bars and more up market restaurants such as Forteleza & Dolphin South African Restaurants.

What makes this apartment unique

We loved the spacious all round garden with numerous fruit trees and the white tiles on all floors. It feels so homely, bright and welcoming just walking through the front door and the steel retractable shutters give perfect security. Access to Luz Ocean Club pools included.

Great flat and very friendly owners. Beautiful spot just a five minute stroll down to a sandy beach. Everything needed to ensure a trouble free holiday had been provided, no running down to the hardware shop for a can opener. Flat spotless, beds comfortable. We will return this Autumn.

The owners could not have been more helpful or friendly, the apartment itself was in a prime location a short 5 minute walk from a lovely beach and less than that from two supermarkets, Baptista and Spar where the prices are affordable.

We found nothing missing from the apartment which was spotless and spacious. Luz and Lagos is about 40 minutes down from the Airport and its worth the trip bypassing the hustle and bustle of Albufeira and the more commercial hot spots.

That is not to say our holiday was quiet. A five minute ride into Lagos gave us access to the many restaurants and bars where top acts seem to fill most of the premises. We had the best of both worlds, long lazy days in the Luz sunshine and a good night out in Lagos when we wanted to be entertained.

We loved Lagos with its cobbled streets and old world feel. There are also many quality Golf Courses in the area if that is to your liking.

We would have no hesitation in returning to this lovely apartment.

Home from Home

We had a splendid two weeks break in ' Luz ' a charming coastal village that we have been to on a number of times in the past 20 years. We went with our daughter and her boyfriend and were delighted with the spacious accommodation and great location of this ground floor flat.

Everything needed was there for our use. The owners obviously consider this their home and have thought of all the little things needed to make our stay trouble free and easy going. Unlike like some of the apartments that we have rented over the years. There was even a good selection of English novels and some classic DVDs to while away the 'stay in ' nights.

The property was clean and well maintained and had a great view from the rear balcony onto the sea. There is a large patio at the rear for sun worshippers.

We did not stay in very often however as we a few minutes walk away from one of the most beautiful strips of coast in the Algarve. The village itself has an abundance of good Restaurants and Bars but, thankfully, is not as busy as most of the Tourist Praias on the coast. the location however we found perfect for days out to the surrounding attractions and only a 45 minute drive to Faro airport.

We thoroughly enjoyed our break and in the conversations we had with the owner and his wife they went out of their way to be friendly and helpful.

I would recommend this accommodation without any hesitancy and the proof is that we are returning to this apartment in the Autumn.

Lovely relaxing holiday in CASA MARIA

We enjoyed 10 days in Praia da Luz at Casa Maria in September. The villa was everything that we expected as Ian had given us a good description and we found it very clean & comfortable. The caretakers were there when we arrived and were most helpful. The villa was well situated with a lovely front garden and nice views over the Ocean Club swimming pool towards the sea. We ate out nearly every night as the restaurants were so good and very reasonably priced. The only criticism we would have about our stay is that we had no service while we were there and washed our own sheets and towels. Also we hadn't read the description properly and hadn't realised that there was only one toilet. Apart from this we would love to stay in the villa again & would definitely recommend it to friends & relations.

Owner's Response: All the information regarding facilities and laundry and are clearly stated on our web-site. Additional cleaning and laundry service is available on request at extra cost by asking our Housekeepers or Ian. Bedding etc. is changed weekly and cleaning carried out by our Housekeepers but only if more than 10 nights are booked.This is normal procedure in most holiday lettings. We are sorry that this Guest was disappointed with this but really glad that it did not spoil the enjoyment of all other aspects their holiday. So much so that they would be happy to return and recommend it to friends and family. Thank you and kind regards Ian.

Great place to be

The title says it all. Very nice, excellent located appt in the heart of Luz, which is our favorite holiday target since 34years. Had many spots there where we stayed but this was one of the best.Starting with very fast and extremely friendly contact with the owner, even our several changes in advance were absolut no problem, thanks Ian. Housekeeepers Carlos and Vanda very professionell, friendly and on time, thanks to both of them. Appt. exactely as described. You could stay only there if you like because you have everything what you need.Supermarket and pool nearby and very short walking distances to all he places at Luz.We would come back tomorrow if we could....I think this needs no further explanations.Miss it already...

Quiet relaxation

nice apattment

The apartment is very pleasant and well located. The view, the space, the comfort are very nice, with balcony (perfect for sunny breakfasts) and a lovely small garden.

The cleaning could be better and some pieces in a bathroom would need to be replaced.

Ian the owner is very friendly and ready to help for any question.

I'ld definitely recommend it to friends.

Owner's Response: I called on these lovely French people the day after they arrived to sort out the TV channels for them, at their request. There was no mention of cleaning or something wrong in the bathroom at that time. The bathroom was completely refurbished in January 2013. We can only respond immediately to correct any errors, oversights or wishes of our Guests, which we did. We actually encourage Guests to tell us of anything that has been overlooked. That way, we can have our Housekeepers attend to it and make it correct for the following Guests. Thank you for this information and kind comments.

Beautiful Accomodation.... Will go back.

Just came back from a fantastic week here with my friends. Would highly recommend, beautiful weather, beautiful location and most of all beautful accomodation. Met the owners who couldn't have been anymore helpful if they tried. They have paid lots of attention to the accomodation and made it a real home from home, Immaculate, modern & very comfortable. Shops, bars, resturants & bus stops are all near. Looking forward to my third visit next year.

The apartment is centrally located in the fishing village of Praia Da Luz which means 'beach of light' and is a few kilometers west of the historic town of Lagos. Further west are several old, easily accessible fishing villages until you come to Sagres and cape St. Vincent which is the the furthest point of land in western Europe. Almost all the pubs and restaurants stay open all year and provide wonderful drinks and meals to suit all tastes both Portuguese and European and are just a few minutes walk away. This is an ideal location for winter breaks as well as summer holidays.
