Perfect home for a family with small children - close to the shops, parks, beach and downtown
My mother and I stayed in this convenient, clean and comfortable home with two young girls (age 5 and 10) in July, 2016 for two weeks. The house had lots of girls' toys so they had a plenty of entertainment. The kitchen was newly remodeled, and had a plenty of cooking tools, utensils and spices that we could use. There was a patio with a propane BBQ grill, and it worked great for a quick meal preparation. The wifi worked good for the entire time we were there, and it was nice to have Netflix availability. The house had everything we needed for the linens, supplies and tools. The master bed room was located on the upper floor and the 2nd bed room was located in the basement, and an infant bed was available in the upper floor 2nd bedroom, but we did not use the room for sleeping. The best thing about this house is the location. We can pretty much walk to anywhere. Cook Street Village is less than a block away, so we could just walk for a few minutes to the shopping street whenever we need for something. Beacon Hill park, the local gem of Victoria, was right next to the Cook Street Village, and we were there almost every day, but we’d never got tired of visiting the park for the beauty, friendliness, and a variety of facilities available for sports and playground amenities. Depending on our schedule, we could choose for a long walk or a quick drive to get to the beach, Inner Harbor, and downtown area. The neighborhood was very quiet and safe, and people were very friendly and nice. I’d like to thank the owner, Shane for making us feel very welcomed and comfortable with his personalized note upon arrival, quick responses to all our questions and helpful advices. We can hardly wait to come back and rent this house again!
Great family house near Beacon Hill Park, beach, downtown Victoria
The house we rented in Victoria was great for us and our kids. The owner Shane was very responsive to all our inquiries and requests. The house has a nice patio where you can eat outside in the summer. The kitchen has a lot of supplies and things you typically don’t find in rental homes. We also loved it that the owners have their vegetable garden, and share it with the guests.
The bikes were great, we wouldn’t have been able to carry our bikes from Oregon! We loved biking to the beach and to Beacon Hill park.
The location is great too, the beach, downtown and many restaurants are within walking distance. If we come back to Victoria, we would definitely stay there again.
Wonderful property in great neighborhood
My wife and child stayed here for 3 nights in July of 2015 and had an amazing time, the property is a skip from the ocean and Beacon Hill park, and is almost equally close to down town - making it a wonderful launching pad for any adventures you get into, whether they be one Cook St ( one block away with a few pubs and lots of shops ), or downtown ( minutes away by car ).
The neighbors are kind and polite - we were (briefly) speaking with them on both sides of the house during our stay and both were great people. The neighborhood is nice and quiet as well, many people out for jogs/walks with their dogs - very family friendly. My daughter was very comfy in the 2nd bedroom (only steps down the hall) and the house was nice and safe for her to run around and play in.
This house is great and left absolutely nothing wanting for me and my family. I'd stay here again in a heartbeat as we felt right at home for the brief time we were there. I would selfishly love to avoid giving a positive review to help keep this little gem a little less under demand, but the owners are also great people and deserve a positive and honest review. :)
Can't wait to come back again!
