Lovely house, perfect area for family vacation and super nice locals

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed very much the house and the area. There wasn't a need to have a house on the island at the beach. The Atlantic was way too rough for little children. Not many tourists which we enjoyed. The house itself is perfect for a family with small children. There is a crib and a bunk bed. The house has been renovated and the owners made sure to keep the original character. The only room left is the bathroom. Still nothing to complain because the house was very clean. Morehead city has a yummy ice cream shop. Beaufort is a very nice historic town inviting for a walk. The aquarium on emerald Island is perfect for a rainy day. We can also recommend a trip to one of the the islands either to visit the lighthouse or the other one to see wild horses.

The Cutest Cottage

  • 5 of 5

My husband, 2 year old daughter, and I stayed over Labor Day weekend and this home could not have been more cute, quaint, and perfect, especially for families with children!! I didn't have to bring our pack-and-play or booster seat because there was a full sized crib (plus crib sheets) and a booster already there. A parents dream!! The house has been beautifully updated but still has the cute charm of a home near the sound. And speaking of, only a stones throw away from the sandy sound for our daughter to play in and in the other direction, a fun park. The house was equipped with a W/D, grill, and everything you need to cook and feel comfortable. The A/C was nice and cold, just the way you want it on those muggy North Carolina summers. And the screened in front porch was perfect for relaxing. The owner was quick to respond and a pleasure to work with. I can't wait to go back again!

My family and I LOVED out stay in this beach house. The location is phenomenal...only a block from a park and a block and a half to the water in the other direction. The house is cute and comes with everything you need for the week and more!! We plan to return in the future. Check out Happy

Great visit - will stay again!

  • 4 of 5

We had a quick last minute weekend getaway without our 2 small children and this was the perfect place to stay!

The house is in a great location - walking distance to the Morehead City Waterfront where there was tons of restaurants and little shops. We had to hop in the car for a 5 minute over the bridge for public beach access at Atlantic Beach but it didnt bother us. 5 mins in the other direction took us to Beaufort where there were yet more shops and restaurants plus options for ferry and boat rides. We took the ferry to Shackleford which was beautiful.

The house is older - but has a lot of character and was really clean. The queen bed was super comfy! The other bedroom had a twin over full bunk bed and a crib - neither of which we used but looked to be brand new. The kitchen was stocked with most everything we could need to cook - we didn't since it was just a weekend trip but nice to know we could. Big dining room. Washer and dryer! There was a firepit in the backyard - we didnt use but wish we had. The one bathroom IS really tiny - I can see it being tough to bathe small kids in in but we could have made it work. Big living room - tons of windows. Loved the screened in porch!

All in all - a GREAT stay. We are planning a weeklong visit WITH the kids for later this summer and cant wait to come back to this house.
