Terrific Home + Location

  • 5 of 5

This home lived up to its description - beautiful. The owners go to a lot of trouble to have the home beautifully staged so it is very welcoming as soon as you walk through the door. The back deck is a perfect spot to relax, especially in the evening when the string lights come on. Normally at the end of a trip I look forward to sleeping in my own bed again - but I have to say that I have never slept in a more comfortable bed (master bedroom). Shannon kept in contact with us to ensure everything was working out.

It is about a 30-40 minute walk to downtown, mostly down hill so you may not want to walk back on a hot day! It's easy to pick up a cab downtown but almost hopeless to get a cab out to the house in less than 45 minutes (I have no idea why) so definitely plan to use Uber (at least you access the whole fleet with one contact).

Among the good restaurants in the area is a breakfast place called Blue Sky. You will almost certainly have to wait, but it is well worth it.

A fun, busy city with lots going on. If you're into guitars, be sure to go to the GIG at Belmont University - an amazing collection of vintage guitars AND the university campus is incredibly beautiful so be sure to stroll around. Also visit Fork's Drum Closet on 12th ave - about a 20 minute walk from the campus (most remarkable drum shop we've ever seen). There are also lots of restaurants and shops on this street (Flip Side is a fun restaurant).

We also recommend a trip to the nearby town of Franklin. Our party went on a Gray Line tour that visited 3 sites focused on a very bloody civil war battle. It's something you will never forget.

A super fun trip and the home we stayed in was a big part of that. I highly recommend it.

Owner's Response: We are so glad you loved your stay and our home. Thank you for the 5 star review! If you want the same relaxing sleep in your home our master bed mattress is a Casper mattress. It is new and we love it too. We always Uber and Lyft from our house and it takes literally 3-6 minutes to get one to the house and its about $6 to downtown proper so that is definitely my recommendation if you happen to come back to stay with us again!

Perfect!

  • 5 of 5

Shannon and Jason have done a wonderful job restoring this home. As a party of four, we found the space to be ample and extremely comfortable! The location allows for easy access to all the sites of downtown and, since we had our own car, we greatly appreciated the convenience and security of garage parking in back of the home. The view from the front yard is awesome.... and provided the perfect spot for watching the eclipse! Thanks for the use of your lovely home, guys! We definitely hope to return..
