Two blocks away Memorial Park offers a public swimming pool, tennis courts, playground, and group picnic areas.
Around the corner is a well-stocked neighborhood grocery; an English style family-friendly pub; an upscale pizzeria; a bakery which also serves coffee drinks; a dry cleaner; and spa. Tamalpais. There are numerous places to launch kayaks around the Bay, including Albany, Berkeley, Oakland and Sausalito. Both Sausalito and Oakland have great places to rent kayaks and other water craft.
The most recent renovation included attention to 'universal design' to increase accessibility. The living space of the house is all on one level, including the deck. A ramp connects the driveway with the deck: one can wheel groceries in the red wagon (provided) from the car to the kitchen, and a wheelchair can travel the same route. Thought has also been given to reducing the number of allergens; scent-free products are used and provided; radiant floor heating provides comfortable heat and reduces the particulates in the air; the house has been pet-free for many years
