Tucked away in a quiet, verdant cul-de-sac you will come upon The White House, a magical waterfront cottage, with spectacular panoramic ocean views overlooking the Strait of Georgia. Savary Island is directly across the water, and the rugged coastal mountains of the BC mainland form a dramatic backdrop.
The White House is an approximately 2,000 sq. ft. cottage with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and a fully equipped chef’s kitchen with gas stove. The cottage is newly renovated with excellent natural light year-round and an open floor plan that takes full advantage of the ocean views. It is decorated with original art and artifacts from around the world.
Dine inside in the spacious, airy dining room, or open the French doors to the large deck, with outdoor, dining table and barbecue, overlooking the ocean. Spend the long summer evenings lazing on the deck, or curl up with a book in the cozy serenity of the sitting room, beside the wood burning stove.
The beautifully appointed master and second bedrooms each comes with a queen bed and a built-in closet. The master ensuite bathroom features a double vanity, bath with shower and a towel heater for warm and dry towels. The second bathroom has a large walk-in shower and a towel heater.
Adjacent to the cottage is a separate studio with bunk beds, providing additional accommodation for up to four people. The use of the Studio comes at an extra cost and is meant to accommodate larger groups. It has a 2-piece bathroom and a kitchenette. This is an ideal space for kids to hang out.
The cottage is surrounded by a garden with a lawn and fruit trees. There is a vegetable patch where you can pick fresh salad and other veggies for your table.
The ocean at your doorstep teems with life. Bald eagles, great blue herons, seals and sea lions are in residence most of the year. The strait harbours both resident and migratory orcas, whales, dolphins and porpoises. Shallow rock pools are home to countless species of small creatures that provide endless hours of fascination for children young and old. Watch your children explore the beach from the beachside sitting area around the fire pit. If you would like to explore a little further afield, you can launch your kayak or paddle board directly from the beach, or go for a long beachcombing walk. An intrepid angler can cast a line right in front of the cottage.
