Here’s a real find for large groups and family gatherings: A spacious (4,300 square feet) five-bedroom, five-bathroom mountain home that can accommodate up to 20 guests — at a great price! Nestled among 70-foot pine trees above Breckenridge, Pine Station House underwent an extensive remodel in 2012 including a beautiful new kitchen, hardwood floors and huge new TVs throughout the house. There’s even a private hot tub and a pool table to keep everyone in your group entertained!

(WINTER SHUTTLE SERVICE: During ski season, there’s a shuttle stop less than 50 yards from the driveway. Take the shuttle to the Marriot on Columbine Rd. From there, it’s a five-minute walk to the Quicksilver Lift at the base of Peak 9.)

The multilevel layout features great options for multiple families. The master suite upstairs offers privacy, luxury and space: a log king bed, a fantastic in-suite bathroom with a soaking tub and skylight and, just outside the door, a den/loft with a table for six, couches and a 45-inch LCD TV with DVD player. From there, a short stairway leads up to a narrow loft/sunroom with views of Breckenridge’s Peak 10 slopes.

The main level is a bright, open gathering area for the whole gang with luxurious leather seating, a large marble gas fireplace, a 52-inch LCD TV/ DVD and stereo system, and large windows to let the forest light in. Step out the sliding doors to your private deck with a large hot tub and more views of Peak 10. And look at that custom kitchen: a huge Viking gas range with double ovens, Viking refrigerator, granite counters, top-quality pots, pans and utensils — everything you need to make meals to remember. The dining table seats 12, and there’s room for three more at the counter. Also on the main level: a king bedroom (with private bath) and a queen bedroom.

Downstairs you’ll find a fantastic game room with a pool table, bar-table seating and another large LCD TV. There’s also another king bedroom with a private bathroom, as well as a great “kids’ room” on the lower level that sleeps six — and another bathroom!

For groups this size, you’ll appreciate the laundry room with an oversized washer/dryer. Other amenities: an oversized two-car garage (with plenty of additional driveway parking), a gas BBQ grill and complementary Wi-Fi throughout the home.

Oh, and the location is cool, too! You get the privacy of a mountain retreat, but you’re just a six-minute drive from downtown Breckenridge and the ski area base. From your door, it’s just a short walk to the Arapahoe National Forest and several Nordic ski trails (and summer hiking trails). And, expert skiers can access the Peak 10 Falcon Chair slopes via a route a short walk away.

                                We comfortably had 16 guests stay in this fantastic home. We were able to fit everyone around the giant dining room table for a meal and fit everyone in a bed. Pool table and hot tub provided great entertainment for all. Renting was made easy with simple pickup and drop off of keys at an easy location relative to the house. Super close to downtown. 10/10 would stay again

                                We had 17 people stay with us and had plenty of room. Of course there were ~4 people per bedroom but to be expected with a group that large. The kitchen is great to cook in for a large group and we enjoyed the large patio with a grill, even in the snow! The hot tub was a plus. There is a shuttle less than 50 yards from the driveway. One thing we would've liked more of were cookie sheets for using the ovens. We went in March and I would still suggest a 4WD vehicle as we did not follow the instructions with one car and had a bit of trouble getting into the driveway when the temp dropped at night.

                                House worked very well for our group with plenty of beds, linens, and kitchenware. Hot tub was a nice way to end the day. Kitchen was deceptively smaller than appeared to be in the pics but still very functional with great appliances. Saw that the home appeared to be wired for total house speakers but couldn't figure out how to control.

                                We are a large group of families who vacation together every year in the mountains. We've stayed at many comparable places. Overall we found this house to be dated and overpriced. The house is located on the far north end of Breckenridge. It's near the bus route. This is great if you plan to spend all your time at Breck, but is inconvenient if you plan to include other mountains and locales. You must drive through town (extra 15 minutes each way) to get to Copper, Keystone, or I-70. The kitchen remodel was lovely; yet the workspace/layout made it difficult for >2 people to work at the same time. The house layout was ok, although the main floor living room was rather small compared to other houses we've used. The furnishings, especially in the bedrooms, were very dated and cheap. The particle board desk in our bedroom had old teenager's stickers on it. The rugs were frayed and the entire downstairs reeked of mothballs. The internet connection did not work. SMR representatives were called three times to fix it.

The owner just remodeled the kitchen and yes I agree that it is gorgeous! It takes a lot of time to remodel an entire house. Thank you for letting us know about the wifi issues. Without someone informing us about the issues we have no way of knowing that it needs to be fixed. I am a little confused by the comments about where the Pine Station House is located. We give maps for all of our properties on our website so that you know where the property is located prior to booking. If you booked the unit knowing where it was located, I am confused about why that was an issue after the fact. Thank you for this feedback Miguel.
